It looks like things are coming along nicely.
The K1s are a great rod and offer very good value.
Coated pistons are also a nice touch.
Thin rings for less friction and more go-power!

Well, my motor is finally going back together. For what it's worth, my engine builder recommends Mobil 1 15w50 oil.

I’ve been using the Mobil 1 15-50 for years .. appears I don’t lose that quart or 2 of oil between oil changes like the 0-40 or even the Royal purple I tried ..

So far I've checked all the rockers, can't find anything unusual. I put a scope in all cylinders (except #9, very hard to get at) and again don't see anything wrong. The only thing I found is a bad spark plug, don't know how it happened. It's wasn't really damaged, but the ground strap was touching the electrode, very strange.View attachment 65019

Nice WIDE torque band which is real world usable, instead of going with a peaky cam that gives higher peak horsepower numbers.

Nice results! Question about oil pressure, I thought these engines make about 150psi? Hence why people have reported blowing non-OEM oil filters? 60-70psi is common oil pressure for many engines.

You might see 90-100 psi on a cold start and 60-70 when up to temperature, which is normal.
