Hey everyone,
Some of you may know me from the SVT forums, I started the SVTregistry.com a long time ago and after some changes am still running that bad boy.
Earlier this year I've launched an SRT verison of the same idea, SRTregistry was taken so I registered SRTowners.com and will basically attempt to build the same great site for the Mopar enthusiasts.
I'm sure some of you are saying "oh great, another SRT site..." with sarcasm, but before I get banned for promoting it, hear me out.
This is not the type of site people would want to visit daily. It is not a competing site to this forum or any other SRT forum. I hate forums and would never launch one myself, but I love forums to post on, so don't get me wrong.
My idea is having a simple static site that I update manually, and keep organized to show pictures of actual SRT's submitted by owners. The site is a great source for ideas for some people or filled with content for those that are bored and just like to look at ordinary pictures of cars taken by actual owners, not media press release photos.
The registry idea was easier to set up with SVT because each car had a unique build number. With the new Shelby I actually post the last 6 digits of the VIN# to keep the cars in order, but as you may imagine people have a hard time posting their VIN# on the internet. So here I eliminated that requirement and for those that choose to submit it I keep it internal to prevent duplicates, but as the site is still growing now its not all that important.
So there's my intro... if you don't see the point to this idea, then obviously this site is not for you. But of course, there are a ton of other people that love to show off their car on the internet just as many people do when they go to a local car show, so my site is for them... its like a giant virtual car show without any geographic limits. If you've posted your car on CarDomain, you can send me your pix to post on mine as well... if you need to update your page, simply e-mail me again. I don't let people update the site on their own because everyone wants to be unique and before long my site would be just like CarDomain which I don't want to happen. I maintain it to be consistent and thats the way it works.
Hopefully this introduction doesn't get me kicked out, and I'm especially looking forward to comments and suggestions.
thanks,
--Russ :burnout:
PS. The picture of the Shelby Charger brings back a lot of memories, it was our first car when we moved to the US... so I'm not totally new ot Mopars after all, lol
