MOPAR R/T

Correct......and completely different body style not anywhere close 2 the 03 5.9 360 cid....and the suspension came no where close 2 the 03 and earlier models....

The 5.9's are slow from the factory. Gearing is 3.92 and low end torque is awesome. But they don't do anything over 4500 rpm due to cam and heads. Great truck, but nowhere near what you're thinking it will actually do.

Cool truck!!! I had a 2001 R/T and a 98 408 5 speed truck.:drool::rock::drool:

My heart and origins started with 68 Dart and 440 Chryslers. The real fun came with my 96' Dakota.

Fairly rare with the 5.2 / 5 Spd. manual and sport tuned suspention (added full poly bushings). With a few mods like custom cold air feed, K&N, mallory ignition and coil, Mopar performance computer, cam, 170 t-stat, 92-93 magnum 2 1/2 exit flange OEM manifolds, full dual exhaust, and a 3:55 posi rear it was one ANGRY little truck!! Could run almost 14 flat in the quarter in the low to mid 90's.
:chain:
I sold it with 200,000 mi. for 4K.

Of course, when I obtained my Ram SRT-10, I did not miss it as much!!;)

I have a good friend who has an R/T with a 408 supercharged. He put a T-56 in it then decided to go to a 727 I believe now. And not to steal yur thread but here's a vid with some of his runs. He was having torque convert issues at the line so times aren't as good as they could be. You should hit up the dakotart.com forum his truck was TOTY over there. He has been about every route possible with this truck and would be more than willing to point you in the right direction. Beautiful truck by the way ;)

Head work would also help, I had spray on mine with headers and exhaust. The way they take off from a stoplight is misleading though, I think the best 1/4 I could pull off was high 14's stock.
