Have a look at the color of the head gaskets sticking out between the block and the head. If it is gold, it has been opened up. If it is black, probably not.

have you thought about taking it to the track to actually see how fast you are? I would think that would tell you alot. not just the time but the mph

I agree. My dad has an 08 c6 auto. I really think the z06 had the traction control and it "bogged" the car. GM's Trac Cont will really kill a car if it starts to spin.
