Carlwalski said:What ARE bumpsteer kits? lol Just wondering as The Batram still bottoms out on the RH (my drivers) side. Getting very annoying now. In fact, I think it's gotten worse. Will have to jack it up and scratch my head over it this week. I'm running Stinkers 1/2" kit and apart from that, it kicks as in every department.

FerrariTruck said:what bump stops do you have installed ,actually if you can get a pic that will be even better and get this solved quickly.
as far as bumpsteer kits, they were made to correct the severe tie rod angle that makes the truck pull when you hit a bump
Carlwalski said:Mmmm, this sounds promising. The RH side sits around 1" closer to the ground. The LH side doesn't hit. I've got my QA1s set pretty stiff, 12 of 16 if I remember correctly, maybe to tight as well, not letting the shocks do their work, not sure. In terms of what kind, I have what ever Stinker sells, I think? I have JMBs sway bar links. Let me know what you may need and I'll try to get it. Sucks having to keep a real eagle eye on the highway for any moderate dips cause they = graunch which makes my stomach cringe lol.
Thanks!
Thank you Sir, all very good info, I will keep this in mind when I lift it up.FerrariTruck said:As far as the ride height issue, one way to narrow it down...
Measure from the bump stop to the control arm on both sides.
If there is big deviation here something maybe wrong...possibly the rubber
spring insualtor was not installed on the spring on this side:dontknow:
BTW i had the same issue with my L/F tire rubbing alot at the very top of the liner once i had it aligned after lowering. I installed the energy suspension bumpstops that stinker sells and got rid of the bottoming out
John Stuttle said:I met with a company here in Indianapolis that manufactures race car chassis and parts about puting together a kit that would solve the geometry problem with the tie rods on lowered trucks. They are going to make me one hopefully this week or next and I will install it and test it out.
The one off they are doing for me is costing $225. I asked them about multiple units and they said they could problably get the price down to the $180 - $195 range depending on how many I ordered at a time with a minimum of 10 units.
If you guys have an interest in this kit let me know and I will try to put something together with them.
john
