I may be interested in part of the deal. I'm not sure about a whole new rear end for the QC, but a different differential, yes.

The thing is it's an all or nothing deal because of the C-Clip axles. You can't upgrade to the Locker without doing the rest.

Did you contact locar about the emergency brake?

I've been working with Bob from Power Train Truck & Auto Parts, Inc., looking at a few options.

Got a few kettles in the fire right now, so I can't commit to this right now.

Guys get in on this........................

I have looked at this for 2+ years and there are no more options unless you want to go way up from here. I have already done this with the Silver truck and it will cost you about 4500.00+ and not be very streetable. Beacuse of the spool. A tru-trac will not work due to the weight involved. I have run almost every combination of rear end over the years and I know what has worked and what doesn't work. A locker is not bad on the street, I have put many street miles on a Locker and they work well.

When a car or truck rolls in and has the "Locker sound" I know it is a serious piece of equipment and will think twice before messing with it.

The way Tony and DTS have this put together it is the best set up for the street and track use. And a bargain for what you are getting. This should handle 1000+ HP at the wheels and live.

The stock carriers in our trucks are weak with regards to the side and spider gears. This design is prone to breakage.

I am getting in on this beacuse I hate broken rear ends. It usually just spoils my entire week.
The rear end in my red truck has polished and cryoed spider and side gears and it will still break. This just prolongs the misery.
The question is not if, it is when it will break.

You guys are driving a $50,000.00 truck and most of you don't think twice about spending money to make the truck faster.

Think about this...........if you get a rear end done you will have more money down the road to spend on go-fast mods instead of having to spend the money to fix the rear end.

Also there is peace of mind knowing that you arn't going to come home on a tow truck.

That is experience talking. The younger owners can learn the easy way, or the hard way. It's their choice.

I'm not sure what your saying...  :driver:
You mean I'm prone to breaking the spiders and sides??? Come on Jack "it's all ball bearings these day's".... inconceivable:D
Hell I'm running Royal Purple...that should fix everything...:D
Yep...I would love to run this set up... I am getting into the truck today...to get her put back together...keep fingers crossed:rock:

We'll give this to the end of the month, then drop it if no one else is interested.

Also on a side note, jsut for those wondering about rims and slicks, I think it was weld wheels and mickey thompson makes a 15x10 with 5.5 to 6 inch back spacing which will tuck the slick under the truck instead of it sticking out like a tractor tire like we have now with the shaved calipers.

If interest is still here on this, jsut keep it alive guys, I'll check in on it from time to time

Everyone wanted a solution to being able to put a decent tire on , instead of shaving calipers or running drag radials.
And this is the only thing I can come up with , due to the c-clip stock axle situation, after exhausting research.
And the price of $2300 for the least set up , is gonna be hard to beat, especially since you can sell the old axle.

QC's and RC's will both benifit from this upgrade as far as versitility goes, especially if you plan to do any serious upgrades or any track time.
It has been mentioned that the QC's may not benifit as much as the RC's and I dont belive this to be true, or Blake and Nowwhat, would not be doing the swap. It may take more time for the QC's to have problems, but with the mods getting seriouser, and more people doing track time, its just a matter of time before the weak spider gears let go.

But its up to you guys, Here is the cheapest and most reliable way I Have been able to come up with. good luck guys , and thanks for reading

I was the one mentioning that QC don't need it, but only if running slower than high 11's. Blake and Nowhat are both doing builds to go well under that. In their case I agree 100% on them doing it. To my knowledge, a QC has yet to blow the spyder gears out, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as tires, don't forget the Hoosier tire. It's an incredible tire, that if I'm not mistaken was given an award at PRI. It's the 10.5" outlaw tire. As stinker said, the 2300 price tag is a good deal. The big brake system isn't a must and the regular brakes will work fine for 99% of the people.

There have been 3 QC's that have blown the spider gears out and they were just slightly built. The carrier in these trucks is the weak link, and will break.

This thread is not about tire brands, anything off topic will be deleated.

This thread is for seeing who wants to get in on this great deal nothing more, and anything else will be deleated............
