I use my 05 QC as a daily driver. It tows 7500lbs. I've used it to haul (40) 50lb cement bags several times.
Since I own my own construction business and video production company I'm always on the road. I bought it new in Feb 06 and haven't had a problem with it at all. I've racked up 24,000 miles.
It gets around 9 mpg street/highway average. You can figure around 33cents per mile for super unleaded gas. It costs you around 4cents per mile for oil changes. The tires seem to last around 20000 miles. Thats around 5cents per mile for tires. The front brakes seem to last around 15000 miles. Thats around 2cents a mile factoring a rear brake job around 60000 miles. Other regular service (taking a wild guess) could cost you around 50cents a mile.
An educated guess would be that it costs you between 90cents to $1 per mile you drive the truck if you keep it stock.
YES it's expensive to buy for an everyday driver. Can be used as an everyday driver.......YES, NO PROBLEM. Your question to yourself should be do I want a daily driver or do I want to pay more for a really fast daily driver that will maintain its value better than any other production truck.
Do you like to feel the neck snapping power or do you want to be normal. Do you want to make a statement with your truck or do you want to blend in. If your normal don't buy this truck. If your insane then welcome to the insanity and buy this asphalt scarring, Ford stomper, Chevy nightmare of a Truck. I highly recommend it.
By the way I believe the 06 is the last year for Ram SRT10. Get it while its hot or get it used next year.
