I haven't currently got anything modified under the hood yet, but I was wanting to get a CAI system, LT headers, and full exhaust system. I am looking for opinions on brands for the most part; however, any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Not worried about the cost of the stuff, I will pay for quality.

thanks,
KG

If money is no object, Have your own exhaust fabbed up with 3" stainless mandrel bent pipe, a stainless muffler of choice (spintechs, borla XR-1 Race, Corsa), Something different. Do your own version of side exit exhaust if you choose. I like my Belanger headers. JMB CAI look and sound the best and is one of the cheaper options.

I like my belangers too. If you doing exhaust and cai get an sct tuner too. Then u will notice a big difference with all three

You came to the right place. The guys on this site will definitely steer you in the right direction on your mods. They have helped me a ton in a short time.
Most of the guy are crazier than shi-house rats though!!!:rock:

Performance Mods

I would go with Billy Boat (B&B) total exhaust system. It cost a little more, but the quality, performance and sound it the best. Mopar CAI is you can find one. Go with the SCT engine management system and BBK throttle body.

Performance at the track? Seat time. You cant beat experience. Especially if it's a RC.

Thanks everyone for the advice so far. I am wondering though if I mix and match different parts from different companies, mainly the headers and exhaust, how much of a difference that would make in the sound. Like for example going with a full B&B v.s. Ballenger LT and B&B exhaust...

Stick with 1 company mate. ;) They design and test their products as systems for a reason, to get the most out of it. Running 2 different companies may result in a little less flow/= hp, sure, it may not as well but since you're starting from scratch, do it once, do it right. I could see possibly running 2 different companies if you already had an aftermarket exhaust and were looking for a cheap second hand header set etc but your truck is a virgin, so treat it right. :D

I run a full Billy Boat (B&B) exhaust system in The Batram, from long tube headers through to the tips and love it. The deepest sounding exhaust around in my opinion. It sounds like an angry V8 at idle and an exotic at high rpms. As Sigma said, awesome quality but you pay for it! If you get time and are bored lol, search "The Batram" in You Tube, several videos on there so you can hear it in action.

Cheers,

Batram, yeah i made the decision to do that. Thanks for the advice. Your post reassured me that i was thinking along the right lines. I too am going to do a full billy boat system as well. I am going to look up your youtube clips as well thanks a lot man. Oh one more question for ya...what CAI system did you go with?

Thanks mate and not a problem! ;) Always keen to help when I can. Good choice on the Billy Boat. You'll love 'em! I went with the JMB CAI. It's OK, does the trick but hp/T gain will be zilch, a drop in K&N filter is apparently the best bang for buck in terms of gains. Looks only are what most CAI systems are for. Good luck mate! :)
