Suicide Hood - Final Pics & MSRP?

I like the OEM hinges much better. Pull the latch and raise it out of the way!!!!
x 2. I've never understood the suicide hoods. :dontknow: They block off the engine bay so people can't really see much? Looks cool with suicide doors like 05dodgesrt10s rig but I prefer the stock hood, as Kenny states, pop it and get it up high and out the way, show off that bay!!

I love the looks but can't see paying 1500, but looks awesome none the less!

I think they look cool as hell and like Chris said remove a couple bolts and move the entire hood out of the way for major service. But your kit price is pretty high.

I think it would be a tough sale for $500,its still just a hinge?? Looks kewl ,but would have to be like Chris's with it easy to remove to work on anything.
Hey Chris I think you truck would look really sweeet with rear suicide doors on it.

Well, keep that idea handy....

There will be those that want to do this and there are those out there that don't care about cost and just want it no matter the cost.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! 1500 bucks, MA
UAHAHAHAHAHA....

NO!
I do know how much work is in that tho. Cutting steel, welding, priming, and painting. Send your design to be pattented, and then get the chinese to make them for .10 a day.

Well this went down hill quick. Neat idea (I had a lowrider back in the day with a hood like this), but was also done for far less. Granted the hood was nowhere near the size and weight, but was also done for under $20. The hard part of our trucks is the grill being attached to the hood.

It costs me more than that to manufacture. Remember it's completely painted and ready for install. Would there be any interest at around $1499?

Michael

Highly unlikley that it would cost you more than 500 to build..

My pops has a shop where we have fabricated everything under the sun that you can bolt onto a truck/car. I have done custom frames, rollpans, tail gates, conversion kits from 4cyl to 8cyl, custom rad mounts, custom firewall etc etc etc.. You get the idea that I have plenty of experience in this field..

The total cost of the 1inch square bar you have in this kit would be maybe 50bux, shocks 40, your custom hood latches could be made of steel and look much better for another couple bucks,, The bump stops few bucks each. The max material cost to this kit would be $120 give or take a couple bucks..

The labor on this after you have completed the first kit and now just for reproduction would be maybe 2hrs, Now a can of black spray paint 6bux and say you pay a tech $40 an hr labor that would bring your kit to $206... Well I can see where you want to sell at $1500 that's a nice $1300 profit.. But highly unlikely... Id say 500 is more than enough for each kit.. And don't even pretend it costs more than this to build..

And if it did cost you more than that to build,

1- you are not building it in house and paid a shop to make it for you and they have royally ripped you off.
2- you are using gold instead of steel.
3- well there is no 3, its just impossible to be much more than the costs listed above.

Just my opinion. All we need to say is yes or no, why be rude about it??

Because someone is trying to f&@k you in the A&$ dry with a price like that. And I sure as hell know that if someone tries that on me I'm not just saying no or yes please but just a little lube please. Lol. I think that's the main reason the members may not be so friendly.
