The Engine Build

Heck of a looking process and machine .. how is it coming along other than the pressure plate
Once finished I will get the flinging mass back and the engine builder can breathe his magic on it. Everything is double and triple checked. Just can't take any chances

He will be measuring things I would never think of. Just because it is now a bitsa. Made up from all sorts of parts and yes it is a matched designed beast but he still will be re-checking every little thing.
I know a guy who is building a Ford Mk4 Zodiac with a 302 Cleveland. Got the kit to make it zoom instead of being a boat anchor. It was all matched outta the box. Started it up and bent some pusrods because the valve springs bottomed out. Turns out the botton piece the valve spring sits on was stepped and the inner spring sat too high. You just can't be too careful. I can an engine together, but I am not a real engine builder. After spending $50k on parts I really don't care how long it takes or the extra time he takes to make sure it is as near to perfect as can be. It is hard to be patient, I am trying real hard. But I keepmissing car runs and shows....Twizel show and shine is on 21st March....I really really wanna be there but it may not happen.

You may be there! waiting on perfection is way more important - glad he is so detailed that makes it worth the wait :)

They have a lot of valve clearance - the stock ones are flat. I'm not sure all the ins and outs of engine building but i did notice that

Looks good!! He does know it takes ten pistons right?!? Hahahaha

Just kidding
He had to turn it to a 8cylinder to get it balanced perfectly hahaha
Same thought when i saw the pistons .. just toss a couple and always remember , if you have left over parts then you know its done right hahaha;)
