I just keep holding on to the fact that Jesus is THE healer and I believe that I will be healed of this just as I have been from other sicknesses.
I pray that your healing is swift and complete.... (Mark 11:24)

The question that comes to mind for me right away, is have you even seen them answered?Prof said:Prayer is a very personal issue in my mind...I have seen the toughest most fearsome people screaming aloud for God to help...if that comforts them or gives them hope, great. It certainly helps me. But we need to be wise in what we pray for. Just seems prudent from a spiritual point of view to pray that God's will be done. Other than than is pretty selfish in one way or another.

Django said:Question:
Did God create evil.................. ? The Bible says so....: Isaiah 45:7
Man creates evil, God created the concept but man decides who and what evil is and if he will or will not engage the concept.
Well that means something to 30% of human beings
I welcome your philosophical input:
Please note that there is a demerit for the first person who makes the statement: "Without evil there can be no good"............ I think everyone's well aware of that by now........
Is it (so simply) that evil is inexorably linked to free will.....?
Yes.
Is there free will if God sees the beginning from the end.....?
Sure as long as there is no intervention.
Is there a preconceived destiny for our lives.
I don't think so...that is the aegis of free will.
If so, does free will enable us to alter the course of that destiny?
No Destiny...
Is evil nothing more than that which we must overcome in this life on earth?
We don't have to...we can decide to embrace it...
What do you think.....?
Now that is a really tough question...maybe we really don't! On the other hand if Sarah Palin is in the room I know what I will be thinking...and evil will be omnipresent in my mind!

How was that?
TheSickness said:What is considered Evil and who is the ultimate judge of what is deemed evil or not ? Why ? Surly you can give examples like Manson and Dahmer...But to them they were not evil...![]()
Django said:... it's scatalogical.D
Prof said:scatOOOOlogical...you sent me to the dictionary on that shitty word...I thought you found something that sounded a little "poopie" but meant something else...alas...just a slip of the fingers...Firefox would have caught that.
Django said:...BTW Firefox constipated my cpu.. Had to remove it.

HOT RAM said:In the original Hebrew there were causitive verbs and permissive verbs that were sometimes translated incorrectly.Where it says God "created" evil, could it not have also been translated "allowed" evil ? Could it not also mean "physical" evil vs. "moral" evil ?
HOT RAM said:I received an e-mail sometime ago about evil and good.It basically said that there really is no such thing as evil ,rather only the absence of good.Same as there is no such thing as darkness, only absence of light. Also ,there is really no such thing as cold, only absence of heat. These are all scientific principles. You can't make darkness, you can only add or remove light. You can't really make cold either, only add or remove heat (absolute zero is calculated as total absence of heat).
HOT RAM said:Evil (death, hell, and the grave) has been defeated by Jesus long ago. We merely have to enforce that defeat. We are like an occupying army. The battle has already been won,we just have to occupy 'til He comes. The Bible says that we are "more than conquerors through Him".A "more than conqueror" is one who reaps the reward without having to win the fight.
HOT RAM said:Now that doesn't mean that life is easy.We still must fight the "good fight of faith".What is a good fight ? One that you win ! The fight of faith is fighting to believe what God says about us is true ..
HOT RAM said:God sees the end from the beginning, yet He allows us to make our own decisions. He will try to guide us into what is best and yet still allow us to choose. When Israel was ruled by judges and priests ,the people rose up and wanted to be as other nations and have a king.My paraphrase is that God said,"it's gonna ruin ya' !" But He gave them a king anyway, because they insisted.

So..........yes.
