THE RATRAM

Im with caveman on this one, this is far away from a rat rod. This is just a ruined truck IMO. Looks like some punk kids stole a nice truck and destroyed it. Rat rods have a theme, mixed with a little humor, and have a general "look". This thing here just aint cuttin it.

He guys,.. have mercy... it´s still under construction.. and we have some very unfair officials here in germany. We can easly drive 200 mph at highway but we are not allowed to install other rear view mirrors without a special certificate,...

guess what i prefer.....:burnout::burnout::burnout::burnout:

Bro this is a ratrod

Just sayin man, its a great idea but the look needs to be improved upon

Wow nice car´s Venom...

this for example you are not even allowed to push over the street...... never ever :stupid:

I gotcha, so the regulations there are a bit different huh? Price you pay for being able to go 150 mph everywhere lol, gotta be sure everyone is safe

You ruined a 10. Shame on you.

Hmmmm, not feeling that at all, but to each his own. My opinion is you should be able to walk up to a vehicle and regardless of theme, know what it is by visual appearence. If someone said that truck had a theme, Ratrod would be one of my last choices. Not being mean here, just my 2c. I would have said it looks like a truck for a movie where the world ends and they found that and limped home to safety.

Off the top of my head, if I were to build a "RATRAM" I would have done the basics: flat black, mixed a few body panels, slammed, white wall tyres, no tonneau cover, chopped a few items, removed stuff like mirrors, fog lights, no hood, bright red engine bay, huge header pipes out the front guards and made it more tasteful. That'd be a good start. I kinda wish you started with less of a mint truck. :(

Below is what I would do (crap photoshop) but it's where I'd start. I had to use The Batram as a base platform. It was hard to "dull" the paint job and do exactly what I wanted but if I were to build a Ratrod theme, it's what I'd do. It's not perfect but this was all done in 30 minutes and given the time I feel I could do it a little more justice than the photo below, but, you get where my theme would head. :)

Once again, no hard feelings, this is just one guys opinion and we're all entitled to one. Main thing is YOU enjoy it. :burnout:

now thats more like it

taking the sh**tty laws here in Europe in consideration they are doing a good job.
top chop will never get road legal here.
even a lower stance is difficult.
For a first try it not so bad. Rat Rod no. A sleeper YES !
I think i would have kept the original bed a had something done with that.

Just imagine seeing that in your rear mirror eating your rear bumper at 125 mph on the german high way :D

I was holding my comments, but you asked, so here it is.

You just flushed $20 plus thousand dollars down the toilet. I hope there is no loan on this vehicle because it is now totaled. Many modifications can be returned to stock, this obviously can not. This is an irresponsible waste of resources. I know it is your truck, and you are free to do with it anything you want, but this is irresponsible. If you had Powerball money and set fire to it for your own entertainment, that would be as tasteless as this.

Understand, there were options if this was your desired result, you could have purchased a vehicle with the "patina" you were looking for and did a drive-train swap easier, and not trashed a nice truck. AND would have had a REAL Rat rod, not a piece of junk truck.

Okay, my rant is over, and many will not agree with me.

second,.. it's under construction,... and it's not the first SRT the owner is driving.
third,.. it's not 125 mph, it's more 170 cause this care is weightreduced
forth,... thats the fun to kill 150k euro sportscars on highway with it,...

so cool down,.. it's an eyecather

Actually he has mentioned many times it is NOT his. Some of the ideas I like. The overall I do not. But, If the owner likes it, who cares. It's his dollar....or pound....or whatever.

I would never do that to mine, but it is unique and I like that.
