SrtBrad said:I just got back from filming the wedding. I must have thought of a cig at least 500 times but am proud to say I did not give in at all. I have passed the magic 24 hour period. Tonight was hard. Everybody thought it was a joke that I was quitting and was offered cig after cig and as tempting as it was I was able to just say NO. I thought of that website that another member here says he checks everyday. All it says is NO. I didn't even have 1 beer because that would be even more difficult. I hope my wife had an easier time.:dontknow: I've been at work all day dreaming bout cigs.I hope time makes it a little easier.

The wife has smoked for 23 years and I have smoked for almost 20 years. We quit cold turkey last night. I used to smoke a pack a day and the wife 3/4 pack a day. This is really testing my will power and the wife is already showing off her fangs.
I don't think patches or slowing down is an option for us. Has anybody else quit cold turkey after a couple decades of smoking? If so what are your suggestions?
Please give us any ideas that will make this road a little less bumpy.
Thanks,
Brad

You and your wife, just don't smoke.........
You guys are not smokers, so if you don't smoke, it is a lot easier. Then you don't have to quit.

Mybe I'll take my own advice and try now.....

Jump in with both feet. The program you have set for yourself is noting but good...no down side, if you achieve your goals great, if you don't quite make it the effort is still all good!
