Thank you Tim for the update,I pray all the time for her full recovery. Both of you are great people and I am honered to be able to call both my friend,if you need to talk to Julie please call she had a tramatic brain injury 8 years ago.love to the both of you.Django said:All of you (the faithful) definately deserve an update........:
Preface: Please understand that my report is based solely on my observations and experience with my dear girl and patient. And is presented without providing a bunch'a (what I consider to be) extraneous other details that may only serve to distract us from the what we can actually see.
Today, upon returning home from the ENT's (ear, nose, throat doc) office, Lynette surprised me by taking on the entire 15 steps to our second floor. She succeeded with only minimal assistence from me.. It was awesome.
She can get out'a bed on her own and get to the bathroom without assistence. I've only discovered this by chance after cathcing her getting back into bed when I wasn't looking (downstairs). This girl is fiercely independent.... even at 64.....
She continues to make strides in brain function which is made evident in a number of areas of daily activity. It is very, very encouraging.
Unfortunately, she is still quite weak all the time... But, I'm not letting that bring me down....
She does have moments when her overall presentation smacks of the days when I had her on hospice. But, I'm doing my best to maintain balance and stay off the "recovery or not" roller-coaster ride of emotion.
The support and love has been a Godsend, no horseshit. Guys like Matt and others with experience in brain trauma recovery have been indispenable in reassuring me that there's always hope, no matter how bleak it looks.
I love you all............. and you have our/my sincere thanks....

how is willow doing? you know...with what they say about dogs, and all...(which, to some are like children)
Good news Tim. Love the avi pic, which after your explanation, finally came into focus.Django said:Willow has drawn very close to me, but now that Lynette's paying more attention to her (as she wakes up) Willow's getting some "mom time" and likes it alot.
But, she and I got pretty close when I started feeding her everyday. It's instinctive. Willow knows her Daddy long time.....
Here's an oldie from her "big pup" days.....

I got this from a friend when my Dad was going through some heart issue. I'm sure you have seen it but reading might give you some strength...

Footsteps In The Sand
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him
he looked back, at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you,
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Never thought I'd get it from an agnostic..........
He does indeed carry us...... I just wish that the trial itself could be averted.
But, there's obviously something in me needs changing, maturing or growth.
His Will be done.........
Thanks again, Jeff.... I miss talking to you here on the forum.... No shit. Yer one'a the good guys.
