Don't those pictures look like a foundry out of the days of the industrial revolution...!

Not a single piece of insulation on ANY of those boilers and kilns.... I bet it gets hotter than the 7th circle of hell in there when they are on.

I remember crawling around on the floors of MANY places that looked just like that, when I was a youngster. Paper Mills were the absolute WORST. Nothing like laying in a pond of rat infested, moldy, horse glue... while insulating a 400deg steam pipe 16" from your face... while the machine is RUNNING (there are no "safety panels" under the machines either). All for the great wage of $12/Hour (with no benefits). :congrats: But, hey! I was pretty fit back then. :dontknow: :D

Going back today...the owner is a metallurgist, and a very bright guy...going to invite him over to the house for dinner...how often do you get to have a discussion over a great glass of wine and maybe a good cigar with a metallurgist?

I bet I will spend the evening listening and Christine and Robert will toss concepts and theory around all night...should be a real educational evening! Kind of like talking waste water management with Joemags over dinner! Great stuff!

Took the rear axle case to an incredible place to have the bearing seats honed.

Anyone ever heard of Kolar Shotguns??? They start at about $10k and go way up from there...well they have an incredible machine shop, we took the heat hardened and compressed case to them to re-bore the bearing seats.

What a place!

that is what I am going to Grad school for in a year. gonna get my masters and phd in it. I have a metallurgist professor in my engineering program and he got me hooked on the metallurgy field.

i just put back my freshly color matched mirrors, door handles, and bumper (touch up). will be redoing 4th gear by the weekend to see if i can finally engage it without grinding.

on a side note my brother in law is having severe problems with his e55 amg. crank bolt for pulley keeps coming loose even after 200 ft-lbs (factory is 148ft-lbs). now the crank where pulley sits is nicked and if it turns out to be no good new crank is several grand ($8000) supposedly.

New Venom hood is getting painted, along with my door handles. I also ordered another front bumper; which is being painted as well.

I put on a black honeycomb grill with SRT badge, and K&N CAI the other day, and today I put on lowering shackles, LED 3rd brake light, and Billet fuel door. Tomorrow my headlights will be at my front door and will be on!! I dont want to post any pics of my truck untill I am done with a few more things!! lol ;)

Getting the axle case bored today...try finding a line boring machine that will accept a 64 inch long rear end!

ordered a billet crank the other day and got all my guages(boost,A/F, fuel pressure, oil pressure) coming today.

I finnally got around to painting the calipers.(only because I replaced the pass. side with a new one, and the rest didn't look as good:dontknow: ) Now I need a set of viper stickers for the front two:rock:
