Yes this! It happened to me, thought it was a tensioner issue, it was the damper coming loose, wiped out my crank.
Thank god I had the extended warranty..
You sure you have the coolant overflow to the right port on the reservoir? When the system gets hot the coolant expands and pushes out to the reservoir, then when it cools the system creates a vacume and pulls the coolant back into the radiator.
If the hose going to the overflow tank is hooked...

make offer, i understand its been sitting since 07 and sold as is..it is a factory mopar part for the viper, and replaces the weak plastic slave on the ram..

they were going to install it and my clutch when they did the warranty for a damper failure..

Take a damp rag large enough to cover the tail pipes and start the truck, then hold the rag against the pipes to plug them if there is a leak you will hear it, if not the back pressure will push the rag away.
Same thing happened to me, covered under extended warranty, funny thing is they had to order a second pump, they said the one that came in was broken out of the box!
It's not an industry standard to "flush" most manufactures won't warranty any components in a system that had a compressor failure unless items are replaced, such as the evap, cond, and accumulator/dryer.
With that being said it's rare for a compressor to fail unless the system is in dire need...
