Legs,Carl has one of the nicest trucks i have seen. His location is New Zealand,Hence the right side drive. :rock:They have to convert them when they get them delivered.

oooo that makes sense now... do u always have to convert it over when u come to the states with a foreign vehicle? wish i could see the beauty in person! but then id probably be drooling and then carl would have to wash his truck again :)

"one of my girlfriends"...???

go surfing and take more shots of ... the surfboard:D

LMAO!! Yeah, kinda friends with benefits hahahaha but yeah, mainly just good friends who drink and party hard together etc. I'm going to be starting my own professional vehicle photography business this year once I get a better camera and pro gear. She's already said she is keen to do more "risky" shots and wants to do more "FHM" style stuff so watch this space lol.

Yup, as JSR said (thanks JSR!) you have to convert most LHD vehicles when they come into New Zealand. Since American enthusiasts stated getting people to sign some forms and people making their voice heard, there is now a list of around 25 cars which can remain LHD. They just have to meet a certain criteria and you must apply for a permit (lot of paper work). In short, the criteria is: 2-door coupe, performance model, limited to less than 20,000 models built and a few other bits like that so cars like the new Challenger or new Mustangs etc can remain but Dodge Rams can not.

Other wise, the general rule of thumb is, if it's 20 years or older at time of import, you DON'T need to convert it. For example, any car year older than 1991 is fine to leave LHD, so that covers all muscle cars etc. If it's more modern and not on the short accepted limited edition model list, you'll have to spend $20-$25,000 US to convert it to RHD. So, there's a lot of work and money in some of these Rams JUST to get it to legal standard and for all that cash you spend, apart from being RHD, it's still 100% bone stock. THEN the fun starts......

Thanks guys for the comments. Cheers!!

good golly that just sounds like ALOT of hastle! they should make that list bigger or not as dumb

Hahaha, yeah but it's way of life, we're used to RHD just as you are LHD, other countries are the same, the UK, Africa, parts of Europe, Australia but still I agree, be nice to buy a vehicle without having to spend $25K US putting the steering wheel on the other side lol. But, in the end, it makes the vehicle even rarer in NZ and overseas.

Always get comments on the RHD factor and it usually makes for some good conversation with my overseas friends etc. At the end of the day, it is what it is and we just have to follow the "rules" to get the vehicles we desire. Money well spent in my opinion, I wouldn't change a thing about what I've had to go through! :)

I had a RHD civic hatchback from japan a few years ago. WAS AWESOME TO DRIVE and got ALOT of looks around here. The best was jumping in the car pool lane and pullin up next to someone in the fast lane. they will look at you, double take and most times triple take the situation hahahaha

Hahahah, I bet mate!! Wonder what the rules are in the USA for RHD vehicles. I guess (like everything else) it will vary State to State? :dontknow: I have my Challenger and have owned several LHD classics in the past so driving in a LHD or RHD is fine, I am used to both. Nice being ambidextrous hahaha.

Considerin how strict California is its not to hard to register a Japanese RHD car here. CHP made me change the front windshield, front headlights and then gave me a little bit of a hard time with emission crap but all and all wasnt to bad. The windshield and headlights from japan dont meet standards or something. yeah and after driving that around a few months i can drive either LHD or RHD no issues. At first RHD i wanted to like drive in between two lanes almost lol and left hand turns were a little weird but the weirdest part for me was that the windshield washer and blinker levers were switched

hood

Probably been asked and answered but didn't want to look thru 27 pages to see.but is the hood clear?
