Single cab SRT10 kill

Im sort of agreeing with you, Super Moderator Dude. And there is no doubt it is cheaper to mod an L. Having said that, people can now pick up a nice RC for 20k, put a 150 shot and a tune on it and a set of tires and run mid 11's. Running 10's or faster isn't commonplace for us. And to be honest, I really don't know why.

If you look at the ET section of LR, the majority of the trucks run 13:xx.

They are faster because more L owners race their trucks than '10 owners.

That's because they're is alot more L trucks out there vs our trucks. We happen to have a limited build truck with an engine that is only put in a supercar. That's why our truck gets more looks than all those stepside looking, plain Jane looking Ford's.

We just need more 10 second trucks!

i'm a realist...

for whatever reason... it costs 50k+ to get into the 10's...

might cost 10k to do this in an L:dontknow:

I sure hope not, I will try to do it with much less than 50K, in fact I'm hoping to get there in under 10K from now.

Horsepower and low ET's are never cheap, not even for the L guys. Don't
let them tell you otherwise. Just ask ChrisHeltra how much time and money it takes to go 10's in an L, I bet it's more than what it costs to do a HC swap and Trainman style weight reduction on a '10.

10K

Lightnings are limited build trucks also...

i beat up on lots of lightnings, but i dont go on there sight to talk about "kills"!!! just saying!!

Johnny wasn't trying to be a prick. Dude came here hoping to draw a few 10's out for some friendly racing. I wouldn't hesitate to go to LR and do the same there.

Agreed. The difference was the initial cost of the trucks. The L was initially a less expensive vehicle, allowing racing minded people to buy them and start modding (props to Ford for chasing the right demographic). The '10 was initially priced and marketed towards the Baby Boomers so they could say they had the fastest production truck. Very few people (realativly) bought 55-60k trucks, then starting modding and making frequent trips down the strip.

Im looking forward to your HC swap. I am especially interested to see which cam you decide to use.

1badtrk ran mid 11's in his QC when we went to the track a few weeks ago.

He doesnt have 50k in his drive train. Put that power into a RC with a good driver and 10's are possible. I have more money into my drive train than him but he's quicker. Money doesn't always equal a certain e/t.

I'm not defending either truck. That's a waste of my time. Just stating facts.

Do you know what the total production run was?

How many per year?

It would be an interesting comparison

the bottom line is there are no mid/high FI hp RC's out there right now... therefore, the 10% of us who i would consider "racers" (jack, jerry, rick, scott, justin, myself... i know there's more) aren't in vehicles that are even capable of this. when tony had the tt's on the black truck, i believe he went 11.2 BUT that wasn't on the big tune... so i have no reason to believe that truck wouldn't have been in the 10's... but that'd be with around 1,000 hp in a full weight truck with slicks...
you have a few with stock engines and paxton's, but probably are only good for low-mid 12's... and the guys with spray are running mid 11's with tires...just stating facts... getting 3 tons to go fast isn't cheap:creep:

yeah, but i'm not willing to go through your street trim/race trim packages at all... i'm talking bolt on slicks and go... in a full weight truck...

well bobby's got quite a bit of money in that thing... forged motor, paxton, tuning, transmission... regardless, he's running 11's... chub's truck (06 RC) only ran 11's and they were similar builds...

This is what I found

1999: Black 1,601; Red 1,533; White 866; TOTAL: 4,000
2000: Black 1,596; Red 1,405; White 928; Silver 1,037; TOTAL: 4,966
2001: Black 1,908; Red 1,722; White 1,170; Silver 1,581; TOTAL: 6,381
2002: Black 1,198; Red 1,086; White 294; Silver 1,018; Blue 1,130; TOTAL4,726
2003: Black 1,036; Red 735; White 606; Grey 1,170; Blue 723; TOTAL: 4,270
2004: Black 843; Red 648; White 428; Silver 618 Grey 648; Blue 596; TOTAL: 3,781

Grand total of = 28124 Made. Not what I would call "limited" production. :dontknow:

As he said, I mentioned drive train. I won't say what he told me his forged motor was but it was about 700 more than mine, his blower is about 1500-2k more than mine. However my t56 conversion was 6k-ish. I'm leaving out a lot of other mods I have and I know he has more but those are the big mods.

I accept a RC with his mods has ran 11's. But not all engine mods run equal at the track. There's tons of variables, and with the RC there's the manual transmission. Trucks with my mods an an auto would be .5 quicker or close with a Properly stalled auto. It's obvious from my videos I posted in here I can't drive well yet. But it's fun learning. And it was a pleasure racing hobby a few ones that evening. He owns me new paint for blowing it off passing me by :(

On another note, remember weight reduction. Lots of L's use it. Everythig from fiber glass leafs, smaller batteries, bogarts and the list goes on. I don't see many 10'a doing that. And weight Reduction is just one variable.

drivetrain only...

$6k paint doesn't make you faster...

i'm guessing he's got $25-30k in the drivetrain...

I think the purpose of my post was that everything had been worked on, and the link was to show said modifications. Since his truck had been getting brought up...

Thanks Wes

Yea, thats not a limited run, however, for Ford..... it is when you consider the total run of F150's for those same years
