Ram 392 Quick Silver Concept First Test - Truck Trend Here is a link to a recent test drive of the Quick Silver Ram with the 6.4L 392. It's numbers seem pretty good, these Hemi's are catching up. But look at what it would cost to build one your self not cheap. You could buy 2 or 3 Viper trucks for that price. The part I do like is if you wanted to build your own SRT the author suggest the new 7.0L 426 Hemi crate motor at 540 HP, only $17,000.00. Pretty cool.

To be fair, the fastest Ram SRT10 we've ever tested was a 2004 with a manual transmission and 4.56 rear end, which hit 60 mph in a blistering 4.9 seconds and ran the quarter in 13.2 seconds at 107.1 mph.

^^^^^^FAIL! :D

Hey I totally agree a total fail on the author's part and his facts. The more intersting part is people have been wondering what a 392 would do in a Ram so here is a little data for it. :dontknow:

"The last Ram SRT10 we tested, an automatic transmission-equipped 2005 model with a 4.10:1 rear end, needed 5.3 seconds to hit 60 mph and 13.7 seconds to run the quarter, though it was traveling slightly faster at 102.9 mph."
FAIL AGAIN!!!!:D

What fools? Had to be a Quad cab or RC in crappy weather?:dontknow:

I like truck/concept. All SRT needs to make a formidable replacement to the 10 is the green light from Chrysler/Dodge. They have plenty of in-house engines and a nice platform in the 2 door R/T Ram. They just need the approval to actually produce a performance truck.

Could you imagine..... If they were to make a 2013 RAM SRT-10 that was sub 5000lbs, 640HP, and had the new Tremec!!! I'd be making a trade-in. Although it would probably be $70,000!!!

I feel pretty safe in saying.... There will never be another Viper Powered RAM

maybe it was 04 but they were testing the 05, and we all know the 06 is heavier

I agree and I don't want there to be one. I think a solid SRT-8 truck would be a better option and would outperform our trucks if SRT works their magic on the engine. Maybe a stroked 6.4 or a supercharger or something like that would provide plenty of power to an already available engine in-house.

I think it's a cool concept and would like to see it being built. If they do proceed (which I doubt they will) they need to make it unique, give it it's own body kit, lower it, change a few things....don't just drop an engine in it with 3 new badges, anyone can do that. It needs it's own identity.

For me, there will never be an SRT Ram like the first (and currently only) generation that we own. Those 392 Hemis are great engines but they are also great engines that are in many other vehicles in the MoPar range. It looses it's appeal and uniqueness. That's one thing I always get a kick out of and love about my truck, the 505ci Viper V10. If the looks of our trucks don't drop enough jaws, when they ask if it's a V8 and you explain that it's housing a Viper V10 it literally leaves them speechless. :D

I'm lucky enough to own a large cube Hemi of the original kind (Dodge Challenger R/T) and having a Viper powered truck is the total opposite, both great machines but both are totally unique, the Viper sound, feel and vibe are truly one of a kind. I hope they never make another V10 Viper truck.....some may say that's a bit greedy others might see it as I do, protecting the heritage, uniqueness and history of owning a limited production Viper powered truck. :) My 2c

Agreed:rock:

I thought it had red wheels at SEMA?

Yes, I like the silver ones better, and paint the mirrors silver or what ever body color the truck could be....

If Ram builds this, I'll be ordering one but hopefully with 4.56 rear its time for another SRT Ram!!!

Well written! Couldnt agree more.

I don't like the wheels, the look like they belong on a BMW or some kind of high end car.

The SRT Division does not have the Balls to build another truck. If it happens, it will be done by Dodge without the SRT label
