Hello srt10 fanatics, new srt10 owner here. I just bought an srt10 QC that needs a lot of love. I want to swap the exhaust to a more stock sound as what it came with is aftermarket and super loud especially at highway speeds. I'm leaning towards the walker quiet flow muffler, I've had good experiences in the past with the walker on other vehicles. Question anyone have input on different mufflers that are more of a stock/quiet sound.? Also anyone here have a set of the stock tail pipes or even mufflers with tail pipes for a QC willing to sell? All info is greatly appreciated. TIA

The stock exhaust...the muffler big enough for a school bus! I did three exhaust systems on my truck before settling on the best sound IMO. The first was a Magnaflow cat-back; sounded great, but the muffler split after 1 year. Second exhaust was a full MOPAR/Borla headers, cat-delete and cat back. It was loud, but I liked it, other than the smell (no-cats). I finally went with a full Billy Boat set up, headers, high-flow cats and cat back. It was by far the best sound and no smell!
If you post some pics, we could probably figure out what set up your truck has, or if it was pieced together.

Any chance you can post up some links to BB with headers, high flow cats and anything else you think would make for a great upgraded exhaust.

    Hello.

Ive had the full B&B exhaust on my 2005 QC for years, starting with their cat-back system in 2007. That made a nice difference in sound and overall power.

After installing their headers, the sound wasn't quite as deep and the power per dollar equation wasn't up to expectations. With that said, the exhaust manifolds on the trucks are pretty good (better than the cars) and I could have stuck with those; even with the new engine build and higher flowing heads.

2014: My brand-new B&B headers didn't fit well and required a sturdy ratchet-strap to coax them into position. I also needed a bolt-extender to slowly rotate the #5 flange as it was out by nearly the full flange hole. B&B's response was: "Why didn't you send them back?" Fair enough, but cross-border shipping can be "interesting" so I fixed them myself.

Disappointing considering the price BUT exhaust systems can often be a challenge.

I'd still buy the B&B stuff.

IF you decide to go with headers, I'd strongly suggest having them ceramic-coated as it makes a tremendous difference in lowering underhood heat which will keep plastic and rubbery components alive and well.

Here we are in 2023 and I haven't changed out any exhaust components other than o2 sensors, so B&B stuff is made of the right stuff.

It was during the Pandemic, and they weren't getting much business. They only had one set when I checked. As Ronnie stated, they don't fit perfectly, you have to persuade them. Also, you have to file down the steering knuckle bolt, or it will hit one of the header tubes.

Do you still have your stock intake manifolds?

I'm still using a stock intake (for now).

    Throttle body is ported.

There IS more HP available with a modified OEM Intake (and even more with an aftermarket unit), but I won't install one if it means losing any torque.

It sounds like there are lots of misinformation regarding certain upgrades which can be done to these engines. JTSV says their billet aluminum TB's add 12-25hp.
i could see that also with some pulley work and a tune, but im still learning my way thought these motors.
The ceramic coated headers is a good idea though as these beasts produce some stupid heat.

Get a crank pully if anyone is still making them, I was also very happy with the BBK throttle body that I put on my truck. Your QC will pick up decent power with a tune, just be careful of who tunes your engine...

You could always go for something really different like mine. I inherited this system with my truck.
Belanger Headers. No cats, twin 3" Short chamber mufflers possible Flowmaster or M&H, 2.5" tails with hotdogs and dual duals
I believe the exhaust was custom built in a muffler/exhaust shop. The best part is when I want a bit more noise I open the electric cut outs and drop it by the back wheel after the chamber muffler. It crackles nicely when you are off the throttle.

It is a personal choice and of course budget. The cost to ship an exhaust to NZ is hideous so we make custom exhausts here. I personally like the balanced look and sound of the twin system. Is it any good? Who cares I am too busy hanging on to notice a few hp either way. There is only a 10hp drop when the exhaust cut outs are closed. Just an idea for you to put in the mix

The modification options are what keeps a "hobby" interesting.

I also installed a BBK TB, and the JTSV smaller underdrive pulley. Makes a difference.

It could also be cheaper to go to your local muffler shop and have your original cut up and remolded.
