Any Questions?

HELLO!!!

Thanks for the compliment, it is appreciated.
Even when I'm not always paying attention to something, after 55 years of direct exposure to it, the facts sometimes stick!! :)

Like any hobby, you (should) share things you learn, or thought you've learned, I believe.

I thought performance engines were a tough topic to have agreement on!!
My interest in high-end audio was rekindled about 6 years ago. There exists NO single machine that spits out a system evaluation on audio equipment as far as what sounds great, good, fair or back to the drawing board.

At least our performance hobby uses dynos (although not always honestly) and MPH at the track for power and performance results.

Anyway, the induction setup and heads are largely responsible for a given engine's power output. And, it's a big deal.

N.A. is the toughest way to proceed.
I'm in awe of the racing achievements in Pro Stock. Or, any form of racing that produces crazy power from atmospheric pressure.

Strikers were designed well and worked well. To pick up 143 Wheel with a head and incremental camshaft change is amazing. Particularly through the 48RE power vampire automatic. And, there was even more HORSEPOWER on the table with a more aggressive cam profile. That however wasn't my goal. My 4th cam grind was an experiment for sure but provides just what was wanted and will likely stay put.

All I can suggest is to have your oem heads ported by someone that has a proven performance record. I have forgotten what you've done to your truck, apologies...

It's rare to find an evaluation that just includes the head swap however. So often it's ported heads, cam swap, compression increase, vehicle diet, exhaust work, gearing, suspension changes, etc.

With all that in the mix, it's hard to state conclusively: "Wow, that porting really worked!"

Proper porting does work, of course.

Or, a Gen IV swap kit that was available years ago will provide Striker power levels.
The Gen IV head was a Very Good piece and even exceeded the Strikers in the all-important mid valve-lift numbers.

Man, it's hard not to write a novel sometimes, particularly when interested in something.

Take care.
See! I'm not the only one who notices your big brain!

Hey canviper! Glad to hear you still have your truck!

I am fighting cancer and don't get out that often, I haven't seen an SRT10 yet this year. :(

Sorry, I don't know of any shops that I would go to...Gen 3 is getting to be 20 years old.
Hey there. Sorry to hear this news. Just wanted to let you know you're in my prayers!

I let everyone know over in that section you wanted to sell something, but they won't let you in !!

Maybe you have been dormant too long. (?)

Hope this helps.
Hey Ronnie, what's a good adhesive to stick in the window track? My driver window keeps falling out of the grooves, and it's a pain to put back in place.

When I was young we used folded up match books - Ronnie May know if something more modern. How about weatherstripping? :D:rolleyes:

I had some tongue depressors, but were too thick. I was at work, so I wasn't able to get some 3M double sided tape. I think the weatherstripping is a good idea, thanks Wifey.

See above.

Good to see some traffic on the forum! I’m in the midst of a Procharger install from JMB. Everything is going smoothly thus far but I’m sure I will have some things come up. I’ll start a new thread with questions if anything comes up.

I’ll post some update pics as things move along. Waiting for a crank pin kit and an alternator and then I can get rocking on the blower.

Any tips for pre-post install are much appreciated!

See above.

I actually do have a question. Recently came across this pressure gauge setup and wanted to replicate.

Q1 - anyone know where I can find this setup? Can’t tell if the mount is fabbed or not.

Q2 - can’t tell from the pic how his fuel lines are hooked up. Wondering how he’s tapped into the rails.

appreciate any help! Cheers!

Question for you:

Are you using an automatic transmission?

JMB Justin should be able to answer your questions and/or provide the bits and pieces to complete your installation.

Iv got an 06 RC 6 speed. JMB hooked it up with the Procharger install manual and I have the SRT service manual for any other nick nack things. The only thing the Procharger instructions leave out is some pulley mounting locations and intercooler routing, but those are just puzzle pieces I can figure out when I hit that point. For the most part I am comfortable with the install.

need to hit up torrie for a tune but that will also come later.

BTW - if anyone needs the 04-06 service manuals Iv got em. Happy to share to those who need them. It wasn’t too hard to track down but I went forum diving for mine until I gave up and paid for em.

I think I spent to much time on the post ho threads

Hey truck lovers! Quick question (apologies if this is remedial) but I wanted to start a new thread on my JMB Procharger install to help other DIY’rs as it comes along but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to start a new thread. Is it because I do not have enough points/posts yet?

Thanks for the help!

Also, not that anyone asked, but thought I would upload a few pics of ol’ girl.

So far, cooling system out, dampener, crank pin kit, and pulley installed. Gauges all installed. Currently held up waiting on a crank shaft sensor (mine had some oil inside the plug, so bought a new one). Once I get that, I can move forward with blower bracket install.
