Wow that sounds like a potential perfect buy for him!I have a 05 QC thats been 6 speed swapped along with tons of other mods. Its Roberts old orange truck. I also have everything I believe to swap an 06 including the console lid. With a transmission its not a cheap swap!

Over the decades there are many many and informative threads on these trucks .. But sometimes you have to weed through the Hos posts , or not and laugh your ask off .. Hoing has been a part of this site since the beginning hahaha and covers any subject anyone brings up .I find new topics here everyday.
On the topic I've just hone down the rabbit hole of T56 Magnum If I'm right it means GM version with a QuickTime bell housing to fit the V10 and a custom 26 spline clutch.

Ah bugger is the stock T56 the only way to go then? I've seen upgrades talked about but now assume that is a full rebuild on a T56 case.Been down this rabbit hole a few years ago and it wouldn't work. If I recall the imput shaft was still too short. I'd have to go back to my pictures and notebook. Also, the shifter location is farther back. The shifter was hitting the middle seat for 2,4 and 6. This was using a qucktime bell housing as well.
