Hey I would be interested in what you find as im hunting for a QC and will likely go 05 due to the difficulty getting a manual swap with the transmission mount seeming like the most difficult to find.

I have a 05 QC thats been 6 speed swapped along with tons of other mods. Its Roberts old orange truck. I also have everything I believe to swap an 06 including the console lid. With a transmission its not a cheap swap!

On the topic I've just hone down the rabbit hole of T56 Magnum If I'm right it means GM version with a QuickTime bell housing to fit the V10 and a custom 26 spline clutch.

Been down this rabbit hole a few years ago and it wouldn't work. If I recall the imput shaft was still too short. I'd have to go back to my pictures and notebook. Also, the shifter location is farther back. The shifter was hitting the middle seat for 2,4 and 6. This was using a qucktime bell housing as well.

Ah bugger is the stock T56 the only way to go then? I've seen upgrades talked about but now assume that is a full rebuild on a T56 case.

Yes! I have one from a truck with 6060 internals. Most parts are discontinued for the t-56 sadly.
