My SRT-10 is racing this week in One Lap of America.

My father and I are entered into One Lap of America. It's an 8 day event, covering 3500 miles and 9 different race tracks where the SRT-10 will be runnning. Tomorrow, April 29, 2010 is the first day of the event. We have a web blog posted at www.edelmanracing.com if you're interested in...

Do I need any SAE tools for minor repairs?

Everything I've done on the truck so far has been a metric fastener - wheels, brakes, clutch, etc.... I need to put together a small toolbox to take with me for the race, but I don't want to miss out on some critical fastener that happens to be SAE. Thanks!

Floor jack and jack stands for the truck?

I need to buy a floor jack and some jack stands to use during a week long, 3500 mile race (see my signature). I don't think I'd be using it for much more than changing a tire or replacing front brake pads. How much jack capacity do I need? (1.5 ton, 2 ton, 3 ton????) Does anyone have a...

I replaced my brakes and can't get them to bleed properly. Help?

As things sit now on sunday afternoon, the truck has a brake pedal that goes to the floor. Friday, when I drove it over to my friend's shop to do the brake work, everything was fine, it's a 2006 regular cab with a little over 3000 miles on it. I'll tell you what I did, and if I did or didn't...

Help with mounting fire extinguisher and a cb radio?

My 06 regular cab is entered in One Lap of America - my original post is here: http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38867 I'm looking for brackets or some sort of mounting solution for a 2.5 lb fire extinguisher - it should be in the cab somewhere. Maybe the seat frame or in that...

Our SRT-10 is entered into One Lap of America!

First, I'd like to thank everyone that has emailed and PM'ed me all of the helpful suggestions on choosing a truck and getting it prepped for racing. My father and I have a long winter ahead of us in Syracuse, NY to get it ready. Fortunately, I have a good friend who runs a taxi company - he has...

Got my '06 home, now to get ready for racing!

I made what I think is a very fair deal for this truck. It's a 2006 that only had 1,200 miles on it. Has navigation, rear defrost, factory tonneau, side airbags, and some sort of an SRT-10 plastic liner in the bed. I gave $27,300 for it at Woodhouse Dodge in Nebraska, and drove it home this...

Anything particular to look at before I pick up my truck?

I bought a 2006 SRT-10, regular cab, from a dealer in Nebraska. I'm flying to pick it up next week, and driving it back to New York. The truck is a regular cab/6 speed, with the navigation system and the factory tonneau cover. It has 1,200 miles on it, and it has a clean carfax report. The...

Any advice on prepping my truck for track racing?

I just bought a truck a couple of days ago, it's a 2006 regular cab with very low miles - only 1200. I'm picking it up in 2 weeks from a dealer in the midwest, and driving it back home to NY. I have all winter to get the truck prepped for racing - my father and I are entering One Lap of...

If you were going to race an SRT-10, which year would you choose?

I'm planning to enter an SRT-10 into the One Lap of America race this coming spring. The race is 8 days, each day has track events in the vehicle, plus the vehicle must run under it's own power between events. The total mileage is a little over 3000 miles plus the track time. I'm leaning...

WTB: '05 or '06 Regular Cab

I'm looking for an '05 or '06 regular cab. Prefer a truck with low miles and the factory tonneau cover. I'm not fussy about color, the truck may be getting painted anyways for an endurance race we are planning to enter. The truck needs to be unmolested - no engine, suspension, driveline, or...
