The problem is changing everything out at the brake to retain the axle

    ahh.. yess, that makes sense..
I'm sure that somebody in the know could just put different outer bearing ends on and move on without the c-clip but then I need to get new brake mounts fabricated to the new end..
which, in the end still puts me in the same place, so not worth the effort since Dutchman can build axles for me.. If that wasn't a option I think that would be my next attempt, but really hoping to move forward with Dutchman..

I don't have a jig for this axle set up or a lathe to make a bushing to work with my 9" ford jig so I sent it to another shop to get the housing shortened. So now I am waiting for them to drop off the axle shafts to send out to Idaho.. This is putting a cramp in my deadline.. lol.. Oh well.. I don't want to sacrifice building something right to save a day or two.

Pretty much!!!! But it seems that way with any project.

lol.. not quite.. I'm hoping to make a show the 18th of this month and wanted to drive. but I would like some test/tune time before hand.. If I cut it short I may have to trailer it to it's first show.. But then again.. I may not even make it.. Lots of variables. We are moving along pretty good but a lot of little things keep coming up. or if we finish a few things we unconver 5 more than need to be dealt with.. lol..

Not really complaining it is what it is, just have to keep at it.

However on a positive note, we have the battery wiring figured out and we are now working on brake lines, hopefully Dave can wrap that up today. All of the body panels are sanded and buffed.

I don't have any pictures but after a bunch of research without getting anywhere I am pretty sure I figured out the A/C lines today.

At first thought my plan was to order some aluminum fuel line, which I did do btw.. But then as I started researching the fuel line is only tested to 20-30 pounds depending on what brand.. etc etc.. And after more research I found out that it didn't have enough wall thickness as compared to what my A/C lines had.

Then tried to special order tubing to match, with no luck without a wait. I decided to start cutting up my original tubing, and I was able to straighten out the tubing enough and piece in a mid section and get it tig welded back together so I think it should work out just fine.. I have never actually done something like this but I don't see any reason why it won't work. I still have the fittings for charging and the original fasteners, the tubing is just a little shorter now.... Keeping A/C was a priority so glad that is figured out now.. Just have to get a charge when I get things back together and see what happens.

What did you do about the receiver/dryer?
Would recommend pressure & leak testing with compressed air first. Will be safer & cheeper.

If you drive your truck hard like I do on the way to work then you will burn the green stuffs up. I would go with red stuff if you do more sport driving

That is sorta still in the stock location, just re-routed one of the lines.. I took it to a guy that is highly certified with the tig welder. I asked him if I needed to pressure check it,, he said no..
