BBK TPS problem

Interesting build, how far down is the filter?? At least you will know if it's the TB if it runs fine with the OE one back on..... Good luck and keep us updated....

The filter is about an inch from the bottom part of the bumper.
Yeah, i'll try re-installing the factory TB.

I had the same issue with the throttle hanging, when I installed the BBK. I tried Stinkers fix, it didn't work. I tried Ironhead's fix, it didn't work. I bought a new IAC, it made no difference. The blades were not hanging up. It was the PCM reacting to (perhaps) the slightly different TB blade position. At any rate, I had Chris ride along in my truck for 15 minutes and he was able to see what the PCM was doing. A few minutes later, I had an updated tune and the throttle has not hung since. That was over a year ago.:)

Oh hmmm. The tune...

I haven't had a chance to re-install the factory TB. I thought I had it fixed but after a few miles the RPMS were back to hanging out around 1500 rpm.

I switched the BBK for stock several times and could not get the idle to settle down.

Damn. Well If I can't get this worked out in the next couple of weeks imma just buy Tony's TB I think.

WTF. If this particular TB is known to have issues why the fuck was It sold to me.... grrrr

buyer beware when buying used parts. Thankfully I've been very fortunate with the parts I've bought on here.

Whatever it is I see no reason it can't be fixed? They aren't rocket science:chain:
Have you checked your idle TPS voltage? Can you see anywhere on throttle bores that blades are rubbing? Is tab for TPS bent? If it was powdercoated black, it was baked in an oven....are there any plastic/rubber seals that could've melted?
Just some thoughts, I believe whatever the issue it can be resolved. :burnout:

I don't remember if I sold my old BBK to you but this was my link where I stated it's broken and hangs

Yup I remember it saying it had an issue when it was for sale. Still imagine its repairable though :burnout:

Hmmmm. So it has an issue with where it connects to the throttle cable...

I bet I can fix that...
