Blackviper Engine Build

Soooo, where are we now with this monster project ???:dontknow:

I'll be at Mickey's tomorrow. We'll be installing the intake manifold, blower, heat exchanger and try to finish the fuel system. Looks like it will be a long day.

After discussions with Rolling Thunderz, Wilson Manifolds and Edelbrock, we confirmed that the original numbers posted were an average of 20 cfm lower across the board. The reason for this is that the original flow numbers were obtained on a 1020 flowbench rather than the 600 flowbench which is the industry norm. So for comparison, we were not comparing apples to apples. The following are the adjusted numbers.

Lift int.(cfm) exh.(cfm)

.100 87.8- 73.3
.200 143.2- 131.5
.300 202.8- 169.8
.400 257.8- 207.4
.500 298.2- 220.1
.600 323.4- 223.7
.700 336.5- 235.3

I'd come down and give moral support, but I've still got at least another 60 bags of rokc to put down in the yard !!!And even then I still won't be done !!!:( And I haven't even made it out to the front of the house yet !!!

Wow! Good luck with that. I'm sure we have a couple of more weekends left to finish things up. I would be nice to get together before then or even on the dyno day.

Pics of today's progress in no particular order.

Thanks George. I should have delayed my time here in Marathon to coinside with the fireup day. That is going to be an exciting day!

Prof, I'd say we're in the most time consuming part of the build. While making progress, it has become apparent things have slowed down. Everything must be double and triple checked. With that said, I figure another couple of weeks before it's ready. It would have been great to have you witness the initial fireup or even the dyno day. I'm looking forward to seeing Sean at work.

I like the black/red color scheme George........2 questions...the 2 tubes coming out the front of the intake?.......the red box where the battery mounted?

:dito:
Looks great:rock:

Thanks Larry. The two tubes going into the intake are the water inlets to the intercooler. There is an identical piece behind the intake as well. The battery was relocated using Justin's kit and the red box is the reservoir for the heat exchanger/intercooler.

Figured the intercooler....thought the box might be a fuel cell for racing gas....;) ........are you going to have a way measure air temp in the intake and be able to compare to non-intercooled?...

I look forward to seeing the results! I hope to be able to progress some on mine soon as well.......
