If I remember, Sean said around 22 Hp per additional lb of boost. So with a ten lb pulley you can make around 680 . The problem is when you you go higher than that the lack of intercooling starts to become a factor. The Paxton units have more potential in this area since they DO have an intercooler.

I've only driven my new truck once (to get inspection, about 30 miles).
During this drive the oil hit 240-260, and the water red lined with "check engine" lights. (no codes)
But, It did cool down really quick after I turned it off.


We tuned Doms truck in new mexico this weekend (for the elevation change), it ran nonstop for over an hour on the dyno, never shut down once, and I never saw more than 175 water and 190 oil temp after 15 pulls. It has a 172 stat and a dc flash that turns the fans on early. Stock fan, radiator, and oil cooler, no helper fans, etc.

Do you think I could have someone custom make an intercooler? I think the guys at ART told me they could
 
I don't know the specs on the ROE supercharger but I would be one of the other limitations is the blower. Once you get the blower spinning too fast it creates too much heat soak and it starts hindering you with more boost rather than helping. Another alternative to intercooling is meth injection though. This would help cool the intake temps and act as higher octane giving less detonation.
 
IMO the Roe is a great setup out of the box, tons of low end like these trucks need, but the intake manifold, not the lack of intercooling, is the problem, it simply is not designed to flow more than the low boost levels the kits come with. This is not in any way a slam on Roe, the kit works excellent AS DESIGNED, but many are trying to take it outside the design limits. I have seen the VERY extensive work Joe at PBJ has done on Dales intake manifold and the endless hours of R+R and it is still the weak link. Think about it, a gen 2 with less ci and heads that dont flow as well, can make 650+ on 8psi with a 2.4L blower. The SRT ram kit uses a 3.3L blower and a heads/cam 12psi truck (with a good tuner) only made 700whp, a gen 2 with H/C and 12 psi would be closer to 800 with the smaller blower and less ci. Neither are intercooled setups and the smaller blower should almost always create more heat. Until an alternate intake design is figured out, dont plan on seeing any 800WHP Roe setups anytime soon IMO.

I'm not looking for 800. 700-720HP is more than enough for the street. If I want more for the track, I can always add some spray...:burnout:
 
After changing the plug wires and spark plugs the beast came alive. I ran it pretty hard around town last night for about an hour. She feels much better then it did before. I still think the tune is off a little, I'm taking it to Denver to get some Dyno numbers on Friday. I still need to hook up the Meth kit but was wanting the truck running good before I started adding more pieces to the puzzle.

Side note the back O2 Sensors will not hook up to the front. They look the same but the keys in the connections are offset different.
 
Cat elimination

I am thinking about removing my rear cats for a better sound.
I currently have a stage 2 x-metal flash 93 tune and borla exhaust with stock manifolds.
How much louder will this be and would this be an issue as far as warranty to the dealer.
Also would a re flash be needed.

A reflash would be needed as you'd throw cat efficiency codes. A reflash could take care of that.

NO RE-FLASH NEEDED behind the cats are resinators... they can be removed with no problem, hell the cats can be removed also just take the o2 sensors behind them and tie them up out of the way. nost of the time you wont get any codes but if you do just get o2 sims....
 
Justin sends the spark plug anti foulers with his catless mids. They work fine. I had no codes with mine. No need to do any wireing when you use that method.
 
Now i know this has been brought up some time Before but does Port matching your intake to your heads really help you gain any HP? it seems like it should but what is yall thought on it?

it does help bro, how much it helps ? dont know, i would think around 10-20hp?

I'm like Tony, I'm not sure what the numbers would be, it would probably depend on your other mods, but it will help. I would guess that it would help more on a heavily modded application where realizing the full potential of the mods are being affected by air flow restrictions. I would say that if this were going to be the only mod on a engine, I wouldn't bother, but if I were trying to milk things for all the potential, it would be worth the effort fer sure.
