Roe vs Paxton superchargers

To me I think a paxton would work well in a RC since you can put the revs where you want them to launch and hold gear longer, also a little less weight. Roe makes alot of sense for QC to get her moving, longer wheelbase, more weight. I think I will go Roe and end up with a 100 shot on the top for second and third gears. should be fun around town either way!:rock:

You What Burnt rubber You have the exact same truck as me. In fact it looks exactly like mines:D I can't go with Roe here in Cali not smog legal:dontknow: Paxton Is smog legal. Paxton is the way to go when your Really really racing someone:rock:

I am not really racing anybody anyway...I will have a monster with in a year to do that, prolly around 3000#'s and 800+rwhp...my SRT is for cruising, work and oh yeah BURNOUTS!!!!!!!:burnout: :rock: :D
 
If I was going with a blower, id prolly lean toward the paxton since these trucks already make enough trq in the lower rpms (lets face it, traction from a standstill is still the biggest problem) id want a blower that comes on stronger as the revs get higher. Since the paxton is the closest to being a turbo, thats what I'd go for, well until the traction problems were worked out.

What good is having even more trq to the rear wheels when the stock amount is already blowing the tires up in smoke.

Comparing the Roe to a Kenne Bell just isn't apples to apples, even though they are both twin scew. Kenne Bell has a 2.8 out now and it is a BAD piece of equipment. I know of several built mustangs with over 800 to the tires with one... no drugs of any kind. And talk about an amazing sound.

Personally for the track I don't see how the extra torque on the bottom end is going to be much of an advantage considering traction is such a problem. That said I can't wait to try my new rear end from Stinker with 4.88's and 10.5 slicks. I like the power my Paxton makes higher in the range where it stays during a track run. Fun factor on the street is higher with a twin screw, instant torque is something else.

Really unless you plan on a motor build etc, its not going to make much difference. Both will be a blast on the street and track. Like others have said, go with your closest tuner... that is good.

Prof is correct, 4.88's make traffic very easy but seriously, I cant imagine having the Roe TMTS ontop of the 4.88's. Marc how do you keep any traction dude?:dontknow: You must have perfected that Nascar technique of driving with a egg between your foot and the pedal!! LOL:D

Nowwhat is really on it guys..........go with the system that your local tuner can and will support........we have no tuners on Maui....so I have no SC!!

I'm not gonna be popular for this opinion...but

There are still (obviously) issues to be worked out with the Roe. I don't think anyone has busted 12.5 in the 1/4 with one yet. 1FAST's run doesn't count, IMHO. He did not have the same unit that everyone else has.

Someone with the Roe needs to do some testing and find a set of rear gears and a tire heigth that will match up with the torque level you are seeing down low. I don't think 4.56s make a good combination with that system (as evidenced by all the timeslips posted to this point).

Until the traction issue gets worked out and some decent times posted with the Roe, the Paxton is king of the huffers....IMHO. :dontknow:

I second that. And thats why I choose paxton... DC is only a half days drive away, and the ROE was still in prototype stages when I bought my paxton.

Plus I like the "passing gear" power that I have, i have talked to alot of guys who have TMTS screws on numerous vehicles and thier biggest complaint is they run out of power at mid to top end... with mine.. she pulls really strong all the way to red line.
 
...almost a year now and not one good pass out of a roe, the choice is easy for me...
 
They must have changed it. I remember reading that it had a CARB number/compliant. I guess emissions got tighter....:dontknow:

There seems to be some confusion about what size compressor was used on 1FAST400's truck. That supercharger was the exact same size and brand that we include in all of our SRT Ram supercharger kits which is a 3.3 liter Lysholm twin-screw compressor. I hope this information helps clear up any misconceptions or information that has been posted in the past.

What are your thoughts on the best rear gear/tire combo to work effectively with your S/C?

We'd all like to see some good competition between some Roe and Paxton setups.:burnout:

I love the ROE design... and I love the paxton as well.. I had to make a choice when I bought mine... nothing against or for either vendor, but as I said at the time.. the ROE was still in prototype stages when I bought mine.. and I was not really interested in becoming a guinea pig...
