To HID or Not To HID

Another bonus with the Retro Solution kits is that they are Hi AND Low beam.
I asked several questions and thought for the sake of others who maybe looking now or in the future, would post them here.

Question 1: Without being rude, I have heard that the hi/low beams CAN be iffy and or fail at times?
Their response was: "For the 55w Dodge Ram specific kits, all we offer are the low/high bixenon kits.
Iffy? I'd have to disagree with that as they seem to serve every other Dodge Ram quite well without issues or complaints.
"

Question 2: I also asked them about the "Bulb out issue" and did their kits have this issue?
Their response was: "With the Dodge Ram specific kit, there are no bulb out errors."

Question 3: Last but not least, 1 of my other questions was about the flickering and do their kits flicker?
Their response was: "There is no flickering with our kits, resistors are included for the Dodge Ram headlight kits."

For $15 extra they will do a wire service which includes inserting the resistors for you (if needed, depending on application).
They said that they strive very hard for 100% customer satisfaction before, during and after sale. I like that part best. :)

Cheers,
Carl

I'm glad you see the light now Carl.....I'll be happy to see you being another satisfied customer....I know I am and can't wait to get them installed in the SRT...I need to buy new heads though :(

Thanks mate! Did you buy the headlights and foglight kit or just the headlights? I've decided to go for the 6000K kit for both in the 55w. :)

i bought the foglight kit from twiggy and im going to buy the headlight kit from retro...I finally got a set but was too late to get the heads from twiggy before he ran out.....

Hi Coley, what are you running, head or fog or both and what watt, 35 or 55? What temp range (####K)?

You guys who are running HIDs, where did you mount your Ballasts? Some searches show some mount them on the chassis rail/bumper mount. I have also seen that they should be in locations where they can get fresh air to help them keep nice and cool and not near any wiring or plastics that could get warm from it. That is unless you live where you get freezing temperatures as then you'll obviously want them protected from the cold. I found the images below on DodgeTalk, looks like a pretty smart place to mount them, no? Tidy, easy to do and they get nice cool air. The last photo is of a Digital 55w 6000K HID kit, gotta love that light, kick arse stuff!!!

Having a good look through the thread, yes you are correct Sir. ;) However, the info was splashed about a bit and not as concrete as the answers I received, better yet, from the horses mouth for 100% guaranteed confirmation, that is what I like and needed to hear I think to finally pull the trigger, you understand. :) Anyhow, I'm going Retro Solutions!

Sweet:rock: ...i think you should order me a set of 6k heads for the recommendation:dontknow:

i just got a set of HID conversion kits for a set of off road lights, if you want i can do a direct comparison to a Ultra star and 35watt HID. really is a big difference

Thanks everyone! Smokey, a comparison would be cool mate, not just for me, but for others searching in the future, from what I've seen there is absolutely no comparison between HIDs and Ultras. I had the inner wheel guards off today (can do it in my sleep now lol) and spotted the perfect spots for the fog light ballasts. I'll be running fog and headlight 6000K kits, I honestly can't wait. I just updated another thread about how the Batram is running so well, so I can't wait to hit the "big city" and start to lurk at night with proper lighting, where The Batram is in it's element. :D Troy lolol......I can't buy you the kit but can email you a photo of it for the recommendation? Hahahaha.

Ha Ha i'm jsut teasing...be sure to post up your results when you get them in...I want to see before and after!!
