6speedquadcab's build thread

Man I am super jealous at this point that your 6spd swap is done. Happy for you though. It honestly makes the truck fact

Thanks Charlie. Can't wait to drive it man, it's still at E's house. I'll be picking it up tomorrow.

Well, although my truck is done being converted and is driveable, I haven't had time to clean her up real well and finish off some of the little things needed to make her perfect to my standards yet. So I will hold off on calling her done for now, but here is a quick pic of it from the rear seats.

Indeed sir. And believe it or not, it looks like it came out of the factory this way in every small detail. ;)

What shifter do you have?

If you have the stock one.... go and order the JTSVP shifter.... The difference is as big as going from auto to stick.

Currently have the stock Hurst, but have a brand new B&M ready when I am.

OK good. That stock shifter is a joke.

I am in LOVE with my JTSVP shifter. Never tried a B&M shifter..... never even drove another SRT10 for that matter either...

So here it is, the official conclusion of my 6 speed conversion project. After 2 full years of collecting parts and sacrificing other things to achieve this dream, it is finally complete. This baby drives and looks like it rolled out of the assembly line this way, which is exactly what I wanted. Not one detail has been spared to get it like this, and although it has been one of my largest financial investments in to a toy, I don't regret it one bit. All parts right down to the hardware are factory pieces except for the driveshaft. Even though many aren't big fans of the oem components in our trucks, to me this is a fun functional family truck and a clean slate for all my plans to modify it for big power in the near future.

All of this wouldn't have been possible for me if it wasn't for the great people I've met in this forum, who supported my build and sacrificed financial gain and personal time to help me with this conversion. I want to thank SrtBrad who sold me the 06 shifter bezel to really make this truck look stock. Trussman for his support and help putting my stock shifter together as it was incomplete. X2 builders for the steering column I needed for the specific 06 color column shroud and detail pieces. Lightingraper for the 06 trans mount and driveshaft that I really needed to complete this project. VPRPWRD for all his help finding even the smallest of components for this oem build and friendly support. And last but certainly not least SRT2SLOW for putting it all together for me and offering his warm hospitality, family time, friendship, and technical experience to make this dream come to life. He truly has perfected the 6 speed conversion on these quad cabs as I can surely testify to. I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I am so happy for you! It has been a long time coming but totally worth it!

Looks amazing man. I love the way the 2006 Center console looks. Just looks better than the 04/05.

Doesn't it drive so much better now? I could never go back to an automatic.

Great execution! Well done. I know you don't wanna give me credit where it's due, and that's cool, but you wouldn't have done it without me doing this to my own truck years ago and "perfecting" it. Without my original
conversion Efrain woulda never came to Texas to check mine out, twice! We whooped some ass both times he came so he witnessed the difference first hand. Before he even got back up north he was asking questions and collecting parts to do his own. If not mistaken his was #2 with the "Venomous 6speed conversion":burnout:
Enjoy it and post some vids of you ripping gears. :driver:
