Spankin Time Motorsports is having a private event at Famoso Drag Strip tomorrow, saturday Jan. 27. Gates open at 8am, racing from 10am til 5pm. It is limited to 100 vehicles, event is full but you can come out and watch, should be very interesting. I am taking the 6-speed manual CTSV and the SRT-10 Ram. The ram feels good, suspension has been adjusted, MS 109 fuel is ready. Going for the top 10 list with my NA monster. Shooting for number 3 ( I have to beat 10.73 @ 125).

    There will be 7 other CTSV's, 14 Hellcat Chargers, 6 Hellcat Challengers, and 1 Demon Challenger. Also 4 other trucks, 1 Lightning, 1 supercharged 14 Ram, and 2 Silverado's , 6 vettes (1 of my buddies runs in the 8's) , at least 24 mustangs, 3 SRT8 Jeeps, 4 novas, 8 camaros , 2 Audis, 1 BMW and a GTR.

    Hoping for good luck.........

10.73 is well within reach for you trainman.
I would set your sights on dipping in the 9's.

Sorry for the wait guys. I was so tired last night and so sore today (changing 4 wheels on 2 vehicles twice) on this old 71 year old was tough. I had mixed results, new best times for the SRT-10, but not as quick as I had hoped. I got to make 3 passes in the truck and 2 passes in the CTSV.
First pass in the truck, sorry I missed 3rd and 4th, I have been used to the CTSV shifter and the truck is different, any way I ran 12.358 @ 96.16 with a 1.684 60'.

After a cool down, launch at 4500, had some wheel hop, but a lousy 1.781 60', but made all my shifts to an 11.458 @ 126.32......both new bests for the truck
but on the return road after getting my time slip the top radiator hose blew off and all my coolant went all over the engine compartment....I thought I was done. Hose was fine, just the clamp came off. So we reattached the hose, filled with water and let it cool.

Third pass: an even worse 60' at 1.791. The rear shocks are 14 way adjustable, first 2 runs were at 7 clicks , last pass we turned them up to 10 for a little firmer, launched at 4250, no spin, no wheel hop, but very disappointing 60'. I had done a 1.56 with the stock suspension, so I have to relearn this new set up. Anyway, the truck pulled good, made my shifts and a new personal best again! 11.345 @ 127.11

    60' 1.791
    330' 4.885
    1/8 7.684 @ 97.62 mph
    1000' 9.562
    1/4 11.345 @ 127.11

So the speed is there, once I get the 60' down in the mid 1.5's or better, I feel a 10....something is possible.

Getting there man! Seems you're having so many issues after this build compared to your stock run days. If you had to do it over would you rather $3000 and a 200 shot to get the same effect? :dontknow:

Based on your race weight (4250??) and your mile per hour, it looks like that engine is making around 780 flywheel.
That is using the same calculator that I use, and seems about right. Other calculators are down around 675 flywheel.

Regardless @ 127, it must be a fun ride.

Thanks for taking the time to share your results. Luv the impressive trap speeds! All the new extra power can take time and set up to harness.
Can you please share your current suspension configuration...ladder bars correct?
If you have the time, can you share how other interesting vehicles performed?

    Cheers

Yes, ladder bars. Don't know much about suspension, coil overs with 14 way adjustable shocks, first 2 runs set at about 7 clicks, last run at 10 clicks. Still have to learn the sweet spot and the best rpm to leave the line.

The only car I paid attention too was the Demon Challenger, his best pass was 9.97 @136

Looks like sorting it out is in order... you stated wheel hop with a 4 link? I was surprised to hear that! Like you said, set up and time in the saddle. Good luck next time out.

The Demon makes me chuckle. The D.A. looked really nice all day...99% or better. I wonder what was keeping it back, driver? Still almost as quick as my green monster below. However, it trapped at a best of 152 mph.:D

Tire pressure, shock settings, length of tire heating, all are variables that need to be played with and tweaked. It will take considerable seat time for sure

It costs a Hell of a lot of money to go fast!

I figure Jerry has spent a little over $6,000 dollars per mile and hour over his old motor and truck to present, 118 mph to 127 mph. Damn it cost a lot of money to go fast.

No, brand new tires, still just learning the power band, I used to launch at 4500 rpm, the new motor makes peak torque about 4900 rpm( about 750 ft. lbs) and it makes over 550 from 2300 to past 6200, so with only 3 practice launches it's still a learning process. Still stock axles and rear end, and transmission. It's also over 620 ft lbs from 2800 to about 5700. One pass I got some wheel hop, but I think the rear shocks were too soft. Don't want to break anything just yet.
