1st SOUTHEAST NATIONAL GTG SERIES

I heard a rumor that a bunch of the south florida guys were talking about pulling out of this event due to the short track, and the fact that L's are being invited. Rumor? Or truth? This will seriously impact the cost of entry.

What can we do to fix it!? I would love to see 20+ trucks here! I say, if it comes down to that, screw the track, we can just make it a beach GTG. Hell, we will have several water toys to entertain!!

Anybody else got any ideas about this?

I (admittedly) haven't followed this thread too closely, sorry.

It is not a 12 hour drive, unless you are somewhere in the keys. You should be able to make it in just under 9.

That GTG I went to at your house was one of the best times I had in a while... There was no track there. I had a blast and got to meet some great people! :rock: :rock:

I don't care who comes... It is more a social than anything else to me. I would love to see 20+ SRT-10's in one place, I think that would be outstanding!

exactly, most of the guys that arent in the vtcoa wont show anyway. im telling you guys if you dont show up you will regret it big time.

Trust me, I am not worried about it. I just hate to see the guys from down south bail.

Not that it matters, but my opinion is plan a gtg without the track. If its truely about just meeting up and putting faces to the names then this shouldnt be a problem. If a track is a must have for the gtg, then find a quarter track and all should be happy.

Who cares if Lightnings show up. We(vtcoa) get to decide who races. Let em watch us. I'm in it for meeting people, eating, looking at Viper trucks. I've only met a few members. Hell if the track causes this much problem, we can gather up at a state park or at the beach with big parking lot and BS there all day. I just thought the track would be fun to see some of these trucks I've never seen race.

When I went to Boomers last year, most people got there on Friday night..We went out to eat, then back to the hotel and hung out in the parking lot..On saturday, we all hung out at Boomers for awhile, and then just did whatever until dinner, where we all went out to eat again..(anyone remember the chair incident?..lol)..Then it was back to the hotel parking lot for more hanging out...
We went to the track on Sunday, and whoever wanted to race did..Even with 20 or so trucks, it was pretty much done in a couple hours..People got to race as much as they wanted to..
The point is, that for everything we did that w/e, the things most will remember is the hanging out with everyone..(well..there were the dad and his kid from Atlanta who made an impression..lol) I would guess if you got all the same people there without their trucks, they would all still have a great time..the GTGs are where the good stuff happens..whether or not there is a track or not..I drove over 2000 miles that w/e just to hang out..didnt give a crap about racing..you FLA guys and anyone else who is thinking of not going for whatever reason, will be missing out and that will be a shame..

only gonna say it once........

we planned on a GTG for EVERYONE to have fun....

which includes a day at the beach,with some boating fun.........

and then a day a track FUN..........its a three letter word, not hard to read or understand it.

If you dont want to race down the track for fun , thats fine, thats why we are giving out a trophy for show.

If you want to do some track fun, then you can, at the end of the day you will get to match up for a little king of the hill fun, and maybe even get a turd little trophy.

But the main part of it is, to go down, drink, party, eat, have a great time, relax and enjoy the beach and friends, all of them.

And to the point , we havent invited no one but VTCOA members, I think I even stated we only wanted VTCOA members and if anyone else was invited for them to please enroll in the site.

This is a GTG for us, Eddie and I thought it would be a ton of fun , cooking out and partying on the beach till wee hours of the morning.

I know Fstjack is flying out, possibly Iltemperd and Izzy, and maybe one other.and they are not racing, they are comming to meet friends:rock:

Fepony is a part of the forum and has been a great member for a good while, and I personally will enjoy embarrasing him in front of everyone

But Damn! If ya want to come, please by all means come down and have fun!:rock:
Eddie and I are workin our ass's off on this so everyone can have a great time, and really enjoy themselves.

But if ya dont, then keep ya ass at the house..........and look at the pics the next day

I,ve held and been to a quite a few G.T.G.s at a track and no track,Although the front of Earls and my house might say different.Awesome time/every time.
Its not the place,but the people that make an event happen. For me,it would be tough to make it in April(tough year).But thats not to say that anyone who can shouldn't attend because of an 1/8 mile track(I prefer 1/4 mile)My Dyno Day G.T.G. will have a little of everything,Ford,Mopar,G.M..Its all about the people..BOTTOM LINE!!!!!!!!!!!:rock:
