I remember when I was there before, the Scripps Ranch was burned out then. I recall driving through the area, it was bad!

These pics were taken in November 2003, just after the fires.

Mike updates please :D

Thanks for the call....

Update,....damn if I know...

The canyon is a ghost town....gonna ride over to the cops and see what is going on....planes started going overhead at sun up....

the winds have died down to half of what they were....

the bad news is a lock down order on the streets....still can't leave or I can't come back....

Send your prayers to San Diego....they are getting the lion share of the flames...

If anyone from the Dago area needs to evacuate our doors are open. It's not the Hilton, but you will have shelter and probably better food than you can get at the Hilton hehe. This is a serious offer, don't hesitate to ask if you need it. I am sure that finding a place to go can be difficult with the sheer number of folks being displaced right now.

The Malibu fire was downed power lines I believe. The Orange County fire was arson, and I haven't heard on the others, but you can pretty much bet at least a few of them were arson. Seems the first one is always accidental, and then that brings the nutjobs out who get off on setting these fires. They don't play anymore, as they shouldn't. It is not out of the question for them to seek the death penalty if there are any fatalities.

Those arsonists suck!!! Most of our fires seem to always occur during the windiest days. Fortunatly loss of life and homes are rare...........just creates insane gridlock which shuts the island down.

Voodoo, that fire is really close...............good luck dude, be safe.

What a damn shame. Those are some sick individuals!  :( I think that is suffice punishment too. As side from loss of life, they're destroying dreams that people have created within their homes and businesses. (Not that loss of life is less important)

Patrick is on the computer, I see him on IM. He hasn't responded to my message yet though....

Patrick is good, says the fires are only a couple of miles away, but they are not under a mandatory evac yet....
