The Go Fast Plan

I dropped the truck off at the install shop last night. I called today, and they predict it will be ready for pick up on Wednesday morning. I have the day off to go get it. :)

Hell, if you have it back on Wednesday, you have time to get to Wadsworth for my GTG on Saturday!

Thanks Roy.

I wish I could. But being a dad will require I stick closer to home. One day though.

Well Dale, it looks like you will beat Eric in having your truck running first.

I'll need the head start to beat his build to the finish line. :) His build is awesome. I am as excited to get a ride in his as I am in mine.

I do believe you are correct. His truck is going to be a monster when he's done.

Yeah, well, it's easy when your truck didn't quit running in the first place.:p

Besides, I'm just getting going on the process with Hogan's, and they have a 5-6 week build time. Just doing the manifold swap means customizing other stuff as well. Maybe I should set my goal for the 2-year anniversary of the truck's demise in October!:(

No matter what Eric, you will beat Jack.:D :p

Today is the day.

I took the day off, but I have no clue what time it will be ready. I need a VIPER fix real bad.

Edit: Today is not the day :( I just got a call, and it will be tomorrow. I would rather it take longer and be done right, than rush and be wrong.

We need video of the launch!

Thanks Roy. You are right. I should have gone to work today.

There will be no video this time. The Ex got the camcorder. Besides I live in the festering !@#$ hole with Silverback. It is looking like rain :(. I just want a nice dry clear access to the highway, so I can get on with some gusto.

Gusto???? Is that what I have needed to get out of the 14's?

All along I thought I was going to have to hire Nowwhat as a racing advisor just to get into the 13's...now you tell me I need Gusto....:dontknow: :dontknow:

Well, frustration level is setting in.

The beast is not home yet. It is not playing well with the SC install. I was told it is not ideling well. Sean has troubleshot and suggested rechecking the VEC install. He also had them try the stock PCM. Neither got rid of my problem. Sean is sending the software to the installer so he can log into the vec and give that a go. He will also check for any vacuum leaks.

I hope he finds it tomorrow. This is killing me.

Just a keyboard mechanic, but from playing in the past, sounds like a vacuum issue...

Sucks man, give it time. Better to be cautious now, they will get her done.

Will

I have to agree, vacuum or VEC connection...

You will be there...hold on just a little longer...then

Whooooop, Whooooooop, Whooooooooooooop.

Going to get the truck tonight. I am stoked. It seams the VEC harness extension did not include the trigger wire for the meth. I have to look into that, as it does not make sense. I know that I have to insert the pin into the VEC harness, but the trigger wire should already be in the extension.

Also the installer called to tell me that a jack stand fell into my door. He is being stand up about it, and it will get fixed.

More later. Dyno will follow the completion of the Meth install, probably sometime next week.

the missing meth wire caused it to idle rough ??

All I can say is WOW.
The dyno was lower than I expected, but that was without meth. (490 hp 480 torque)

The rough idle was due to a broken wire in the harness extension.

The installer did not install meth injection due to a percieved missing wire. I got home and traced wires and located the right spot in the harness. Install was easy after that since I already had everything else ready.

I took it for a test ride, and it was a blast. The meth injection did make a difference. Every start was a WOT. Pure joy.

PICS later. It is dark now.
