oldcolt's NA Build

I know from experience that if you want to touch woman parts after a weekend of wrenching he best keep soft hands!! :) focus on the important things! Happy wife, Happy life!!!:burnout:

We had a good day today. That rear bolt on the intake was the only fun we had. The Striker heads are on and may have the roller rockers set up tonight. If not we will be back at it in the morning!:rock::rock:

Thought I was probably missing something. :) What are your initial driving impressions?

It is very smooth, sounds different. Ronnie is going to make some adjustments next week. We both have to be out of town for the next week or so. It should change the way it feels right now.:D

It was a great experience doing this project with Ron. :)

Jason and Keith jumped in when we need a hand. I highly recommend Ronnie to anyone needing work on viper or any performance engine. As we were finishing up my truck, a 347 was being built for a pro-street Mustang.....it will be another quality piece coming out of their shop.:rock:

Sonic I'm not mistaken... The fastest na 10 runs mid 11's??? And your truck could beat it??

Wow! That was one quick conversion! Great to hear its back on the street Burt!! I wish I could say the same, im having some issues!!

It will not be tuned/dyno'd until June 2nd. Chris is coming up from LA.:)

WHAT?????? June 2nd, the suspense is killing me!!! Lol! I wish I lived closer to you, I would love to go for a ride in this truck!!! I have a cpl of buddies telling me to go FI to keep drivable street manners but I want to stay NA.

The Striker heads went on very easy. Our biggest issue was the passenger side header. It had nothing to do with the head and we learned something for future builds.
Ronnie and I did not use any power tools this weekend. I was nice to have a hoist, but you could manage without one. We worked on this for three days, but the exhaust issue added a half a day. The cool thing is the truck looks stock under the hood. Other than the Mopar headers, you would never know what is there.:rock:
All of the factory hardware fits where it is supposed to be and the only mod is the bracket on the dipstick tube, which has to be raised, due to the valve cover spacers.
This build is truly worth the effort and in Canada anyway, a steal, when compared to the Gen 4 conversion.
I am glad I did not port the stock heads. You can see in the pictures in this thread the vast differences in the heads. Jeff did an incredible job designing these heads.:rock:

3 days! Must have drank alot of beer in the middle of the day! lol:) That was just heads right? hmm..... what tricks did you do? come on! fill us in on all the details!!

I didn't do any tricks.....ronnie on the other hand...:p

He already had the stiker cam! so there must be alot of aluminum on the floor. intake like an eggshell! that truck will breath GOOD!! Us N/A guys could really use a good manifold that is affordable.

I did the Striker cam last year, so no changes there. Ronnie has an intake in the works. :)
