Afternoon guys
I am sure there are a few people who know about my truck but after taking it apart I learned a few things.
800 rwhp and 840 ft/lbs on low boost of 9 pounds
will get new high boost numbers when it is back together.
It was originally a Hennessey Venom 1000 kit. I have added a few things and changed a couple things myself so here it is:
stoked to 522 cc
JE pistons and Rods
modified stock crank to make the stroke
stock heads
twin 67 mm ball bearing turbos
upgraded fuel system
cat less
magnaflow exhaust
X-metal polished TB
polished intake
polished airtubes
heavy duty 5 speed trans from Century Transmission
cal-tracs
reprogrammed stock computer. * this needs to change.... taking ideas *
3 pieces aluminum rims with stock rubber
M+H tires for the track
My buddy and I, who are doing most of the work on the truck, could not believe some of the things Hennessey did.
For the price of this kit I would expect "gigga" parts everywhere. There wasn't. We are putting in ARP bolts and studs everywhere. New bearings a must. I want to change out the computer for better control of the motor. I want to change out the stock injectors.
I bought the truck from Walt and brought it home. It burned out 2 sets of journal bearing turbos so I put on the ball bearing ones. Since then no problems until the night at the track that I wanted to try high boost. I made 1 great pass and tried to do it again but blew the head gasket and torched a hole out between my head and block.
All in all do not buy anything from Hennessey.
Precision Turbo is good to work with.
I just got back from SEMA and got part numbers and vendors for a number of parts for the truck I will sound off on them later.
Paul
FYI the truck is now a Hilge-sey Venom 1000
