Well i will give my details with my recent transactions with X-Metal.
Placed an order for, seat handles, lowering kit, and a GenIV shifter.
I received my billet seat handles and my lowering kit in a prompt manner and as far as the GenIV shifter well lets just say it wasn't a very good expierience.I think his customer service needs some work.
In regards to the GenIV shifter, since i have recieved it i am totally pleased with it.
Possibly an answer to some of this could be to let people know that if you choose to purchase from X-Metal you will recieve a top quality hand crafted product but could take months and months time to fullfill your order!

Ok after my complaint about Boomer a few months back i had one member label myself as he would say: aka roktman
Well dude my PM sent call me!

• Lately it seems I have caught a lot of flack from my brothers here on the forum, and I owe my side of situation, as best as I can explain it
• Nowwhat you have black anodized door handles from me that have faded from the California sun, a year later.
• This is the first I have heard about this problem, as you have never called me or pm’d me about it.
• I will gladly have them reanodized, and or custom painted to alleviate that condition. I did talk to you about the noise in the door handles, and we recommended putting in a small piece of tubing under the handle for it to rest upon, since the rubber button wasn’t staying put
• . Also, last week was the first time we discussed that your front springs were too soft, as you know, the new ones are on the way. I asked you to remove your negative posts about my throttle body, not because I was trying to ‘BUY†you, but because you have NEVER tried an X-Metal throttle body, therefore you have no basis for evaluating ours. And everyone who we have sent one too, Begood, Stinker, Doneo, and others have called giving me rave reviews about it. I know it works, I spent 2 years doing the R&D on our design and it is not like the one you have from RSI. So are these 3 problems enough to warrant you bashing me at all costs, with out ever giving me an opportunity to speak to you and try to help?
• 1fast400-you say I lied and posted a dyno sheet. How ever you want to twist it, I didn’t dyno the run on the truck in question, another independent shop dyno’d it, and the owner JRGND has a video of it? Yet I lied and posted a fraudlent run, not true, a search would reveal that. Get your facts straight. You haven’t contributed anything positive to this forum in any technical form.
• If this forum allows turds like you, who lie and manipulate people for no other reason than self gratification for an ego maniac, then I am better off with out this forum. Btw, thanks for always bashing the Paxton supercharger and pimping your Roe, only to wind up with your truck at underground with your Roe sold and now I hear your looking at getting a Paxton?
• I love this forum and most of the people on it. I was recently accused of not calling a customer back, who had tried to reach me several times via phone and computer. I knew about this and chose not to do any future business with this person as he was a constant pain in the ass, and a liar.
• You never get to hear the entire story because as a Vendor you are expected to take the higher road, and not always say what you really want to as “the customer is always right†yes in some cases that’s 99% true, but I have a fault of not kissing ass, and that comes at a price in business-but I am aint changing, I say it like I mean it. Yes I do deal with hundreds of potential X-Metal customers a week, so if I cant make 1% totally happy, I am truly sorry, and all I can do is give it 100%.
• If you just look at the law of percentages, just by the shear volume of people I talk and send out parts to---about 5-10,000 year, yep, I am not going to make anyone happy.-if all I did was rebox something and sit around for 4-5 order phone calls, then my customer satisfaction rate would certainly be better, just by doing the math.
• X-Metal is NOT a Jegs, or a Summit, or any type of business that I just rebox an item and I send it to you. Everything I make is handcrafted, and it is something I wont make a lot of (camaro or mustang parts), as the SRT Ram is not even made anymore, and was made in small quanities, but I love them, and will continue to make cool one of kind-cant get no where else-parts for it. Does that take a while, yes sometimes I will have some extras sitting around I can ship the same day-like calvue mirrors, sometimes I have to wait until I get enough orders in to meet the minimum requirments to order materials to make something. If it was sparkplugs, I could just order a few and ship them to you. To make a shifter or throttle body, it costs me $3000 up front, to buy the materials to make them. Then 2 weeks of machining time.
• I cant just whip that kind of money and time out for 1 shifter here and there.
• Yes, I am very hard to reach sometimes, that is undeniable. With expertise and handcraftsmanship, comes a lack of time-I cant be 2 places at once. X-metal is one of 2 business I run.
• X-Metal isn’t what pays the bills here
• -so I work 80-90 hours a week to fufill X-Metal services, yet still make enough money at my day-to-day job to be able to survive. I have a main man-Marty here who helps me do installs and run the CNC’s. we cant be everything to everyone. Guys, this is the GOD’s Honest truth: I get 20-100 phone calls a day, a lot of them are for advice on products I didn’t even sell to the guy calling me! I have gotten and get phone calls on Christmas, New years, and Thanksgiving, and I returned 2 on Memorial day. I get phone calls from people who wont talk to Marty, and the question I get when I get to the phone is: “whats the best way to get to your shop, or “ I just need a price on Headers, but I wanted to hear it from youâ€
• If I answered every phone call I would never be able to run the cnc’s, do R&D, do the dyno tuning, etc, you get the picture. Sometimes when people call, I am doing finance paperwork on a bike someone just bought or helping another sales person or customer here at the store. This month I have been battling chargebacks on Visa cards for over $12,000 from 3 crooked X-Metal customers who would rather steal and lie, than pay their bills.
So yes, I fill a small niche in the Viper world, it’s a small niche, that’s why I have to do other things to survive. I wish X-metal was my only responsiblilty, but its not, I am a father, a husband, a Marine, and I have to provide payroll to 15 other families who rely on me to keep them in a job. If you want a Gibson header which sucks, it can ship today, try to order a B&B header and its 4-6 weeks for them to make it.
• I would like to remain a Vendor here and a member, as I love this truck, the owners and this forum, unfornatley with the internet I have found that you are only as good as the last post someone made about you.
Being a business owner for several years now i have found there are always going to be some problems ,but i have a definite issue with the response from you, if u dont have the money to make a product then dont offer it,u say u need a bunch of orders to make it because of cost?,well maybe u should have taken the money u made from the previous orders and made extras instead or sitting on peoples money waiting for capital to buy that specific product, you tell this forum that xmetal isnt what pays ur bills, thats great but its not our problem, simply close it up go do what makes u money,i wonder how my clients would react if i said this crap to them :eek:h hey i know i took ur money but this really isnt a concern i have too much going on,are you kidding me?

there are people in here including adminstrators that you still havent refunded them or fulfilled their orders ,but ur working on it right?,as ur hobby because u made it clear it doesnt pay ur bills and its just not a priority.

no one put you in this position, you made this all on your own,yet u blame other variables for your lack commitment to this specific business,u post that u have 15 employees and not one of them could do any work for you,or call any customers to tell them there were delays?,thats your responsibility to keep the customer informed, not to wait for a phone from an angry customer about his order a month later.

i really dont care who gets mad over this post,i dont care if hes the greatest guy in the world,i have never talked to gary he is not a friend of mine .

But i can still tell anyone friend or not if his business practices are poor, can you?

Thanks for the input Boomer. I was hoping you would reply to stuff posted lately. You can't please everyone all the time.

I think I have said many times that I love your product. The only small issue I could have at all is that when I talked to you you said you had the stuff in stock so you could get it out very soon. It took three weeks but to tell you the truth after I got the stuff I didn't care all that much. Just make sure not to set expectations too high. People will bash you if you deliver late, but I now understand you do everything yourself and applaud you for that.

You should definitely stay around as a vendor. We have so few people that support our truck and it would be a shame if you stopped working with our truck. Being a small business owner too you have to have a thick skin and take the good with the bad. Someone is always going to complain, but as long as you try and do good by everyone you will be fine. The Internet gives every person no matter how wrong they might be a soapbox to stand on and they will always get attention.

I plan on buying many more things from you going forward. You were very refreshing to talk to and I knew you knew much more about my truck than i did.

Thanks for your support.

Doing business via PM on a forum is a bad idea all the way around (for the business owner *and* for the customer).

EMAIL folks.
Send an email instead.

Liking it or not is not the purpose of this thread....You stated your side very well. I saw nothing that flames anything just your expiriance.....Thanks for posting up I am sure Gary will respond tomorrow.....Mikey:D

I Ordered my first order in November ( HIDs , Stage 2 pcm , Tstat , mgnaflow and midpipes ) all were recieved in time every thing was smooth (despite the order taking over 2 months to prepare ) but i was satisfied as the truck was still on the ship on its way to me.

my next order with XMetal was a lowering kit + tie rods + Bumpsteer kit for my 06 QC , after transfering the money , the kit would not ship for two months , by late April it shipped , recieved it to find the bumpsteer and TR not included . I emailed with my problem , he replied that he didnt charge them on me !!! i had transfered the money by bank  and their cost was included in the transfer total , i told him that and that was the last time he responded to my email !! in late April !!

now i am down 240$ and no parts , Gary if you really honest about solving the problems please send me the money or the parts.

pm me for my contact details .

I hope these issues to be solved for the benefit of everyone here .

Good Luck
Sherif :)

guys on the poll that got closed, i wasnt trying to start anything. just trying to let the mods and owners see what the members thought about this situation. hope it can get resolved for the newer guys. most everyone here agrees that boomerhas had problems, hell even he admitted to it. but give the guy the benefit of the doubt. everyone here also knows he is not a big outfit and should take it into consideration when buying. ive always got what i paid for from him. just my .02 for what its worth. again not trying to start any b/s this place has a world of info about our trucks and i have met some lifelong friends here too. thats about it, i just wanted to clarify why i did that.

Hello Eddie

As I stated on that thread, your heart was in the right place, but it's an issue that we as members are not a part of.

Personally even though I have not met Gary, I like him. We have talked on the phone a number of times and my experiences with him have been positive.

However his being a vendor on the site is a matter between him, Jack and Patrick.

I realize you were not trying to start anything, and I believe most would agree with me.

Take care.

This thread has remained very civil thus far, but I saw something posted that I have to respond to.

You just told a manufacturer of specialty products that he should "simple close it up go do what makes u money". How does that help us? This manufacturer makes multiple products that no one else in this community offers. I think it's short sighted and ridiculous to tell him he should "close it up". I think if someone told me I should stop doing what I loved based on their opinion, I'd sling them the middle finger.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions about the way he does business, You can decide based on that opinion to buy from him or not - and it's good to have those opinions in the open. I wouldn't buy from a guy on ebay with a 50% rating - but it bothers me that you would prefer to see a vendor leave our community because his customer service at times is not paramount. I'm from the south, and grew up around old money, so maybe my ideas of what makes a business sucessful are different from yours... I am also tired of seeing "I'm not JEGS"... but it seems to me like you want him to be - and that's why he's sustaining that as a defense. A guy who is straight up and tells you he runs this on the side does not have the capital to make extra parts and sit on them, but who else out there is supplying our comunity with some of the parts he makes?

I've read a couple posts in this thread where people refused initial refunds and have had to wait a few months to get their product... IMO it's not unreasonable to wait for a quality product rather than demanding you have your product "by next week"... You refused your first and second chancces at refunds.

Either way, it's all opinion. Based on those opinions you decide wether to do business with a company or not - but to tell someone they should quit and leave a community is absolutely wrong. (Once again, an opinion).

I felt it pretty much pertained to the topic - a discussion about a vendor and our opinions about it. I didn't do anything but the same sir :)

BTT!

Well my truck is about done . I have changed my mind so many times during the process of my truck mods , maybe I am the reason he cant get to the phone. Maybe after my truck is gone Gary will have more time LOL.
I dont know who wouldnt want to talk to Marty, he is very knowlegable on our trucks and has alot of experience with all kinds of engines.
Well so far my experience has been great. Nothing like old "MOFO". Any of you guys remember that mess?

I looked your truck over very carefully on Monday and Tuesday...it is looking very good. Nearly everything is done, according to Marty a few changes during the process set the time table back. You are going to love it. Any yes your ride has set a record for time in service at X-Metal!
