Now after my shock of the piston I discovered, I finally peered into the bore and I was once again shocked......

Thanks Dodge for designing a well designed destructive engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in my garage now drowning my sorrows in some ice cold beer.......

I may have to make a coffe table out of this block now.

You did well. That is a dusted engine....

Please as you pull the other pistons...look closely at the ring lands of each one...I am sure you will find numerous cracks between the lands and the dome...these stock pistons will not take much...

I feel for you...but many of us have been there...lots of times...I don't recall how many times over the years...but I bet it has been at least 5 times that I have made a mess like yours.

Soon you will stop looking back and start looking forward, to the new build...have a ball you will have earned every smile that the rebuild brings to your face...

hey cheer up man! i gota a hole in my cylinder bore about that big..an they have repaired it! lol....i know it sucks but..itll be alright..i know how you feel im scared to death im going to get a bill for like 10 grand...so cheer up itll be ok!

I was able to squeeze my hand down through the #4 bore and reach up into #3- I straightened out the #3 piston in the bore and was able to push the #3 piston and broken rod out- LOL I dont even have the block out of the chassis yet or the oil pan !!! I will find all sorts of nice pieces in the pan....

Here is the # 3 Piston.........

Now you can drop a hemi right in there :p :p :p ;) ;) ;)

Sorry to hear about your engine :(

Thanks for the high res pics...I think I see the cracks about 1/4 over on the edge of the piston dome (third pic)...if people pull their heads, any engine that is suffering some blow-by will have those cracks...and sooner or later a chunk comes out...and then, and then...well along comes Mr. Boom!

Keep the pics coming...this is better than a porno movie...I guess it really is pretty nasty to you.

Yes I see the cracks too.

I feel your pain:( I am going to tear mine down next weekend and see what it looks like:dontknow: So what are you putting back in it?

Kyle, welcome back.

John Edwards will finish mine this coming week. He was wondering if you wanted time or should he go on to someone else...

I will need somemore time for sure:( I want to get mine apart and see the damage. I have a guy that said he could fix the block for about $200 as long as no oil passages where damaged:dontknow: I am crossing my fingers that my crank is still good:( I pulled the #3 & 5 plugs and they looked good so hopefully my heads will be ok:rock:

Have you got your motor back yet? Who is doing your tuning and how much boost are you going to run:dontknow: I am going to shoot for 700rwhp with mine and anything over that will be great:rock: What little I was able to get after it with 600rwhp and the 4.88's was NICE!!! So 700rwhp will be even more of a beast:D

While I understand searching for cracks, I have to say these don't really count as far as looking at- the destruction to the pistons could have caused the cracks. We'll see what else I find once I tear into the block.

And yes hi-res pics will keep coming.

And this is FAR from porno for me LOL !!

Wtf is this gunk ???
