PERFORMANCE MODIFICTION QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE

Tony I've spoken to you about it, you told me to talk to Jasper.

I may not be pushing them hard enough. I've left messages and talked to warranty 3 times.

I'll just drop more money in the truck and see if they will let me install a B&D or HTS valve body to get this thing to shift right. I don't want to loose the warranty as this is one of the reasons I bought the truck.

From a master 727 48re 47re builder I've been told our trannies are built with components to handle the horsepower. Its the vavle body, servos, gov solenoids, throttle valve bores and bands that are the week points. And the 5 disc drum, said the 4 disc is better because they are thicker and handle the heat better.

So its got the parts it just lacking the timing to keep it from slipping.

I have babied this thing to the point that some times I wish I had my other truck............Until I get that Roe roeing.............:) When people tell me "I" broke this and and "I" break that, it's upsetting because I didn't break it, it broke on me because it just isn't built for our trucks. I'm only pushing 550 hp as I lost the dyno tune it had in it. If this was in a Taurus then it would be a great tranny.

You have to understand that I have NOTHING against you and on YOUR word alone I bought the truck sight unseen because of what you said about it. I told my wife if Tony says it is, then it is........ So I think very highly of you.

I do kind of wish the Tank was for sale though............130,000 invested in a truck sold for 38,000. instead of 10 to 13 invested for 30,000 hind sight is a beatch! If, If was a filth you and me would be drunk right now right.:)

I jsut wish you had contacted me on them not getting what you wanted fixed bo, I will see what I can do

Thank you.

Tony, with the upgraded bands, if this thing were to have a valve body that was timed right. This would be a good transmission.

Tony,

I talked with the GForce folks today that are building the T56 for me and was told the gears & sliders were at their facility in North Carolina, to be polished.
I did not know that GForce had a shop in NC, are you familier with it?

The tranny should be ready in about 2 weeks then it will be time to burn rubber and try to break some parts............Yahoo

Have you got her on the track lately?:dontknow:
Going to Darlington tomorrow.
Supposed to be 55-60 degrees, but its just TNT, so we'll see about track prep.

My friends dad builds performance engines here locally and I was gonna have his friend do the machine te block when I do rods and pistons. My only question is.... Upon reassembly how do I set the timing? Do i reallign it to top dead center somehow? PM if there is a thread on this.... Thanks ahead of time.....

new owner plz bare with me.....i am a fairly new owner on an 05 qc srt. (4mo). and have heard the horror stories with the auto trans and at times i hear a slight clunk shifting from 1st to 2nd and when putting it in reverse. Its loud enough for me to hear. Should i get the tranny flushed? band adjusted? dont know too much about this tranny.

2nd question...I am not looking to go crazy with this truck, just a solid 12 sec runner like my old lightning was. I am the second owner of the truck and the only thing ive done to it is a magnaflow catback, deleted rear cats and resonator. i took it to the track and it ran [email protected] and the second run was a 13.8 @101.9. Which mods do the qc owners have to help them run in the 12's? as far as i know it still have the stock tuning on the computer.

The clunk is most likely your diff, you got some big gears back there and if not setup just right I will clunk.......... Mine did from day one, never whined and all was well................until ali got ahold of it..............:(

Put a tuner or pcm in that thing it has got some 12's but most low 13's

what were your 60' times?

I have Cat deletes and a 93 octane tune and run (hot) 13.2s in 80* weather with drag radials.

Where are you racing? (Here we go again)....ALTITUDE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE... If you are a 14 flat now and you REALLY DO NOT HAVE A FLASH ON YOUR TRUCK, you are likely at a fairly low elevation already.

For example, a 12.7x SRT10 at sea-level is commonly a 13.3+ to 13.5 second truck here.

My stock QC ran a 15.1 at our local track, which was bang-on for a stock SRT10 QC; then it ran a 14.1/14.2 with a catback system, drop-in and a flash. Then into the 13.8s with a 1000 foot drop in altitude (no equipment changes).

#1- Get a flash for yours.

i was racing in chandler az at firebird international raceway. Not sure of the altitude but the temp was hovering in the 50's. My 60' on the 14 flat run was 2.183 and on the 13.8 run it was 1.971. Here in AZ the best we can get is 91oct not like the east coast. Theres a gas station here that sells 100 and 110 oct though. I dont think it has a flash on it. How would i find out? Shift points? RPMs? I think i was running like 20-25 psi on the rear tires.

to get 12's on QC

first get the trans fixed....someone who knows about that will explain

high 12 are possible in AZ as long as it is not above 90deg

you need

1) DC performance flash

2) the 175 or 180 t-stat

3) high flow or no cats

4) a exhaust such as magnaflow, borla or RBP

5)lower tire pressur to 20-22 psi

6)set tow/haul mode on
