Forced Induction Questions - Help Me Decide

Whatever way you decide to go,I am sure it will be a perfect compliment to an already awesome truck!!
Shucks, you're making me blush. Thanks brother. :)

The thread/post below definitely helped with my decision to go back to the Roe set up. Post #24 really spoke the truth about big #s, reliability and street limits. Like Big Asp in post #24, got sidetracked and seduced with the big hp numbers, that's all it was and I admit, it got a hold of me. But I don't want to smoke 'em up, as he said, he'd got blown away by lower hp trucks getting traction and using all of their hp. I'm not into "dyno peeing contests" as Big Asp calls it. :D

Intakes:

I've been searching and will do so after posting this but to get the ball rolling, what are the options in aftermarket intakes? I've heard our intakes are quite restricting and that the distribution can be poor making the front 4 cylinders? leaner than the rest. Anyone know what can be used with the Roe top mount intercooler that still clears under the hood, if any? :dontknow: Can we port the OEM intake and is it worth it?

Thanks!

Carl there is only one intake for the Roe currently. It was designed by Sean when he developed the top mount Twin Screw, to help the SC fit under the oem hood.

There is one in development in Miami as we speak. It has several modifications and an intercooler. But it has not been tested yet...but any day now...

Here is the build...it is on BlackViper's (Jorge) truck...

I should be posting the engineer's drawing of the intake and intercooler design this afternoon.

Thanks Jorge, we are really excited about your project!

I'll be in Marathon in July...maybe I will get a chance to stop by and check out your innovation!

I'll go find that vid of the roe on a shot of gas.

I was a wet shot in the back of the blower where the bypass, It would pull the shot through the screws, cooling as it goes. Add meth and chill out ;)

Or instead of meth some blue windshield wiper fluid and a shot of Heat!

You could have your own fabricated as well. At that point though you might as well just buy your own Twin Screw and have your man fabricate it there. You could then get a larger TS if 700RWHP is not enough and Sean could still tune it for you. Just find a guy that has experience making intake manifolds for twin screws.......

Thanks guys, tuning is not an issue, I have good faith in my technician. He won an award for Australasia's best Subaru Tech, that is a great achievement. Knows his turbos, FI and computers/tuning very well. I won't muck around with Roes set up too much. At this stage I'll probably aim high, around 700whp, then bring it down to around 650whp for a nice safe tune. With forged pistons and KI rods plus a few other internal upgrades it should be a very safe and sound unit. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
Carl

I believe that was Mike McCardless.

I raced him the first day he had the Roe on his truck...it was very quick. In the space of about an 8th of a mile, he put at least 8 lengths on me...and there were three in his QC (Mike, Sean and Dave) ...and his clutch was slipping.

Nice run, hard to see in the video and it looked slow (from the footage) but the times don't lie.
Not keen on adding any "gas" or shots of NOS etc. My main goal regardless of power adder is reliability and longevity, then power #.

Hi guys, not too far and I will start to purchase the goods for my build. I have everything I need sourced but am having trouble finding (forged?) Federal Mogul Rod & Main Bearings to suit our Gen 3 engines. The Federal Mogul site is bloody messy and a PITA to navigate. Anyone have part #s for the bearings used in our engines? Are the bearings we use in our engines actually Federal Mogul or one of their many brands like Speed Pro? Sealed Power? Felpro, etc??

Thanks!

As mentioned previously in this thread - ROE SUPERCHARGER. ;) Stock hp is hard to get down, no point having 1,000whp+ and only using/putting down 60-70% of it. The Roe SC is PERFECT for my street truck. Will aim for a safe, reliable tune of around 680-700whp, anywhere in that area is fine as long as it's bulletproof I'm happy. :)

Thats what I thought, i got lost in the thread...... damn singapore crude (a cold) has got me again, can't think.....

Hey with 500 hp 1st gear is a waste unless i feather in.

You'll be happy

Thanks bigike. :) What suspension mods have you made to your ride? Lowering kit? Caltracs? Tires? Anything else?

I've got 2" leveling shackles, overload removed, caltracs and sunny 305/45/22's I like the tire they are cheap and good looking. But I don't think they hook that well.

Oh OK, similar to mine at this stage before we dial it in and do a few custom mods. I would have thought the 45 sidewall would have helped regardless of cheap or expensive brand. Did for me - 100%. More give/flex = more bite. I'm running Conti's Cross Contact of the same specs (305/45). :)
