So far no solid numbers yet, except I spent $1,000 for a pair of bare Gen IV heads, shipped to Greg Good ($500 each), and $1725 for ARH 1 7/8 race tube 5 into 1 headers with Gen IV flanges (headers are not included in the MoPar pkg). I expect the porting and custom valve sizes from Greg to be in the $3,000 range, then add for rocker arms. A custom Hogan sheet metal intake is $3,300, but I think JMB is going to beat that price. I will be adding a custom solid roller cam. Remember the Mopar pkg is only heads (complete) and intake (no TB) plus tuning......no headers, no cam, unported heads, unported intake.........my heads will outflow the stock ones, my intake will outflow the stock one....so for the same basic price I feel I will be way ahead. I also will be rebuilding the block (forged rods and 11 to 1 pistons, plus improved oiling and a keyed crank), along with a custom Chris Jensen tune....so I fully expect to be between 650 and 700 rwhp.

Thanks for the information. You can see where I'm coming from. Just nice to compare things side by side as best you can. I'm sure others are curious when it comes to spending that kind of money. No one wants to spend x amount only to find out they could have saved themselves y amount by buying it piece by piece or buying a kit.

Link or which forum is that information in? I logged in and poked around but didn't find the actual post. Probably missed it.

    * Never mind * I found the post. Just needed to flip over another page.

Update time! Just spoke with Greg Good and I have the preliminary flow numbers on the Gen IV heads. I think my Gen III stock heads flow between 268-280 cfm @ .600 on the intake side. Here are the numbers for the Gen IV ported heads:

    LIFT.......INTAKE.......EXHAUST FLOW
    .200........165...........115
    .300........254...........178
    .400........309...........220
    .500........348...........244
    .600........369...........258
    .700........375...........259
    .750........377...........260

Greg is calling Justin @ JMB today with the specs for the custom intake, he wants total runner length(runner and port) of 15", round runner shape, 25% taper on the runners, and have the runners extend up into the plenum chamber. More details to follow.

The cam specs we are considering are 248-256 with .700 lift, 114 LSA, Solid roller.

The valve sizes on the new heads are: 2.170 intake and 1.600 exhaust.

Just got off the phone with Justin, and after talking with Greg Good, they decided that I might best use the Gen IV lower manifold with the Challenger Drag Pack top and a single blade throttle body. Ported and port matched of course.

Thanks for the updates. Strong looking numbers too. Is that duration at .050? Were your Gen III heads flowed at 25 or at 28 inches of water?

Yes duration at .050. I never flowed my stock heads(they've never been off the truck), just saying what I have heard they flowed stock.

That factory number is interesting. It appears stock Gen III heads are limited at about 615 flywheel horsepower.

Your truck is going to sound mean at an idle. Can't wait to hear it!

Great news! Looking forward to your results! .700 lift is sick brother! Are these different ratio rockers?

Update on the intake manifold, we have decided to use a GenV plastic intake with 2 (possibly 70 mm ) mechanical throttle bodies. Justin @ JMB will be doing the custom work to make the throttle bodies work. Being ordered today. Greg Good is about 2-3 weeks from finishing the heads, still trying to get to 380 cfm on the intake, and he will do some minor work on the plastic intake (port match, etc, possibly some porting also, but being careful with the plastic) after Justin is done.

Did anyone flow test the Gen IV heads prior to porting? I know my Gen IV heads/intake conversion needs a cam in a big way, as the stocker is holding it all back. Only considering hyd roller, though.
