Well, this is bad

What are you going to try and get from the insurance company? Was the truck transported in the rain after the hole was punched in the oil pan?

Is it possible for that much moisture to be in there from it sitting for a few months since the hole punched out:dontknow:

That much water is water ingestion, I just can't figure out how it got that much water in it....

Not to be cynical...

Hey, we're a shop and have a new guy here... Let's get some of that sludge oil out of that neon and pour some sink water in it and tell him this is his... He'll never know, and we'll get a pile of work from him..........

Definitely thought about it, but there was still residue inside the block and around the oil pan.

I'm a aircraft hydraulic specialist, not a motor mechanic but after seeing it first hand, I don't see how they could have pulled it off and be worth all the trouble.

I've been thinking about it all day and have no earthly idea how THAT much got there.

Maybe condensation from sitting, and if that were the case, then there's no way to prove its condensation and not ingestion. It's just water and oil, regardless of the cause, they won't make an attempt to justify the warranty repair as the bent rod was caused (by what the current condition shows) by hydro lock.

I don't know how to investigate anything else. I'm definitely open to ideas though as I'm completely lost.

I think jsandlin had almost an identical problem and it was just from his truck sitting in the rain at work:dontknow:?

Most likely a stupid question but, are you the only person that has access to your key while your truck is on base?

Not a stupid question at all. My wife and I are the only ones with access to the key. My neighbor has driven it once, a 1/4 of a block to haul some trash as I watched from the front yard and E has helped me out a lot with it over the past year. But that's it. I'm very protective of it.

My neighbor, before he moved, messed with it and pulled an ignition coil off one night after he was asked to leave a little get together. But that night I was drinking and showing off under the good to my other neighbor and forgot to close it when we went in. Then when neighbor dickhead went home butt hurt, he pulled a plug.

That guy was my first guess as to who would have messed with it, but he moved a few streets over and I can't really think of a time he would have been able to fuck with it.

After this initially happened didn't you check the oil with the dipstick? I'm sure you would have seen the sludge if that much water was in your oil. Also what did the oil dipstick level read when the tech looked at it?

Honestly? I don't really remember. From what poured all over the ground, it was black, like it should have been, not milky. My driveway is still probably stained.

The oil read high when he checked it.

The truck has been sitting for just over a week in the driveway which is on an incline. I decided today would be a good day to start it up and take it to work. As soon as I started it up, I heard two midgets fighting with hammers and killed the engine.

I put it in neutral, and rolled it into the street and then tracked down the oil trail and found this lovely sight

At least it'll look good parked in the yard...

Just to look back at your original post, looking at this pic I'm assuming you wiped the block clean to take the pic but, what looks like oil dripping from the plug is very black! Which seems to imply a need for an oil change but also doesn't show any sign of milkyness!!! If it didn't look like chocolate milk when it blew up, why does it look like it now??? Hmmmmmmm.... there's your proof!!! Good luck my friend!

Those are my thoughts exactly! Something is fishy :(

I didn't wipe down the block, but it was all over the place from that hole down. The oil was changed a bit over 4k ago, so it was ready for another one. I have other pics too but my hard drive took an iced tea bath courtesy of my kids.

Thanks for prodding because I'm definitely a bit scatterbrained with this.

Just trying to help bud. If that pic shows black oil and now its milky... something odd is going on!

Would be fighting this all the way has the dealership seen the pic that you took, guessing the oil on your driveway is long gone, have they pulled the heads yet? I only ask because if bad mass water ingress the rod/ piston that let go will be clean as whistle as will the valves and combustion chamber on that cylinder I would be asking a lot of questions at each stage of there strip down and to be honest if could get an independent specialist to look it over even better

Just seems to me to be a massive amount of water when you say that the coolant level was good and at level which makes me suspect foul play to which point I would be contacting my insurance company and getting an investigator to take a good look at presented evidence
